*finally My 1 Year Finasteride Results*

My dad was a Norwood 2.5-3 by 28 years old. I’m actually finding it surprising that ppl here are saying I have no loss. While the hair clinic I went to didn’t check it with a scope for minaturized hair, she said it would be a good idea to start finasteride given my dad’s history. Also, I experienced the classic hair itch/burn in the hairline corner I was losing hair.

Just want to bump this thread bc I had a question I can’t really seem to find:

Does anyone here who is taking finasteride with success still have an itch here and there? With some days it being more common and others just non-existent?

My hair is good right now with finasteride and i don’t seem to losing hair at the moment but for 2-3 days now, I’ve had an itch come back, similar to when I first started. Any input?

Update since I last posted guys. Still on 1mg finasteride 6 times a week. This is my hairline now. Any recession since my last photos on this thread? Opinions greatly appreciated.

I actually did not shed when I started finasteride. The only hair i was losing was what I was shedding before the finasteride. Now I probably lose no more than 15 hairs when I shower. If anyone wants any input on finasteride please shoot me a message. I tapered on it slowly to reduce side effects and it worked. I have no sides.

Your a hater lol. Spiteful you didn't catch ayyours in the early stages much ??? May it be he didn't look to have any hairloss really to begin with, his hair definitely looks better now, definitely not worse. The hairs look darker and thicker. Even though it's basically the same.

Thanks Charlie! I would say if you have caught it fairly early and are on the edge about finasteride like I was, I would try to ease into finasteride slowly. It worked very well for me and i know others that have had that same experience. Try it and worst case scenario you come off it

What constitutes early? I was told by my derm that it would be “slow and progressive” and that I wouldn’t notice any changes in 2 months. Started treatment 2 months later and hair had already significantly thinner out in that time.

What do you mean by thinner, like you’re shedding more? Do you have photos that show it’s more thin that before?

Second and third were from about 7 months ago. The rest are recent. Took me about 3-4 months between first noticing and starting treatment. Been on finasteride+oral minoxidil for past 3 months.
