finasteride ACCELERATING male pattern baldness - TRUE/FALSE

Eeerak uses evidence to justify things - that's the sensible way. The forum was filled with people that have aggressive hair loss, body image and anxiety disorders, depression, hypochondriacs, not to mention trolls with their own agenda.

Bilbo I am not saying you are any of these things (you're sensible too) but that Eenrak is correct, the trials haven't shown acceleration. The thousands of people in the trial, I feel they would have picked it up. Shedding also on finasteride is not proven. minoxidil puts your hair into anagen so shed can occur. finasteride itself doesn't interfere with the hair cycles.

If hairloss accelerated in individuals on finasteride it would have just been attributed to male pattern baldness progressing and the individuals not responding to treatment. And about shedding, thats exactly my point- the clinical data dosent mention shedding. However, most people who use finasteride have experienced shedding of some sort and hence we are told that "it gets worse before it gets better". This indicates a definite flaw in the clinical trials since they did not cover this at all.

I have never posted what you've just quoted. That's really mature changing my quotation to make me look like I do not know what I am talking about.

To your information, here's the inhibition curve of Finasteride - and as you'll see, you're wrong. Now stop promoting false information, you're clearly not studying Medicine as some of us are - and stop editing quotes.

Wow an inhibition curve, WOW! Never seen it before! Thanks, so true.

I've been shedding/loosing alot miniaturized hairs every day since starting finasteride, like crazy when shower. Whiter in the end of the hairs strains near the white bulb, starting 7 month now so hoping for regrowth:) Also planning to visit Doctor for check of my blood values again, can someone tip me for what I should check for if finasteride has made a good impact on me?

a reduction in serum DHt, but you need the baseline blood test from before u started taking it. how else will u know if its lower than it was. without baseline it could be high, but has still come down from when it was even higher.

if u dont have a baseline test then forget it, u will have to just assume its working.

I think its possible in rare cases that male pattern baldness can be sped up for yet unknown reasons if you use it and then later quit. The trials for propecia were done in mostly men with advanced hair loss not younger guys that have most of their still. How sensitivity of hair changes before/after propecia is pretty poorly understood so there is no evidence to say it does but its silly to say its not possible. Lets say its unlikely but possible.

I do think finasteride can cause accelerated hairless, hormone shifts in the body CAN cause hair loss whether in the form of seb dermatitis or otherwise I do think it's possible

How can be possible no one in trials experienced a fina shedding? Another well know Doctor said it doesn't existbut then we have to assume people with only fina treatment and shedding are freaking out

lol well this will explain "some" of the study, but even some docs said it doesn't exist, the answer is simple, does finasteride accellerate the anagen under the hairs and sync everything like minoxidil? If some study say yes then ofc shedding is real, otherwise it's psycological or maybe minoxidil used in combo

Worried about starting finasteride just for this .... the sexual sides seem not as bad when this exists. I want to start before my hair transplant as im planing to get one around october 2019. Im trying to map out a way that even if i would ever progress to a nw6 id still be able to get more hair transplants done. But as some people said it accelerated thier male pattern baldness when mine has been gradual even if im advanced in hairline recession. Also worried about the donor area reacting negatively

I have seen some guys on here responding to those who are experiencing worsening hairless, recession, shedding etc etc with the idea that finasteride is actually kicking their male pattern baldness into overdrive.

Surely to god this is not true, as it completely contradicts the purpose of taking finasteride in the first place?

It can happen. Finasteride changes the amount of androgen receptors. Meaning if not enough get blocked your hairloss speeds up.

Interesting , care to elaborate ? Why would this happen to certain finasteride users , are these the ones with a more aggressive hair loss because i have seen some complain about this issue when they consider their case moderate. Do you think if i have oily skin acne and high test that ill be more susceptible to reflex hyperandrogenicity ?

Its unknown why this gets triggered with some users. It has been acknowledged that the androgen receptors increase when taken finasteride. Even after quiting finasteride this doesnt change back. It seems like an permanent change. I could only guess why this would happen.

Some have said that after they quit it stop shedding so it may not be the case for everyone. Also does it accelerate what was supposed to be lost or hair that was never suppose to be lost without the drug (sides, back donor area)

It might. It seems every body type responds differently. It only accelerates what suppose to be lost. Not everybody gets ball ache. Not everybody gets b**ch tits. Not everybody has decreased sperm volume or ejeculation problems. The responses rate from 0 side effects to getting all side effects that are known. This makes it hard to determine if you would respond well.

finasteride drops dht, dht is the cause of male pattern baldness. It's pretty basic and illogical that finasteride would accelerate hairloss in any normal circustance.

Your right, but why is hair sensitive to DHT at all when you had it most of your life before? Why do certain men get sides and others dont? Why do some men continue to bald even on dutasteride while others dont? The point is unknown things happen because many things with male pattern baldness no one has a damn clue how they work.
Yes normal circumstances, but someone could respond oddly. We dont know why, and medicine has no clue.
There are millions of good questions and very few hard answers.

We know after studies done earlier that finasteride will upregulate androgen receptors sensivity - basically the body will create more androgen receptors to compensate for the the low systemic DHT it senses on finasteride

Also finasteride does not reduce T which alone can cause hair loss in the absence of DHT if your hair follicles are sensitive to androgens, especially in the hairline where finasteride isn't as effective over time

Fortunately we have a solution : Clascoterone - the first side effect free topical only anti androgen.
Much better than RU - 3 times as powerful and without the RU systemic effects as Clascoterone is immediately converted to a non androgenic substance unlike RU which takes longer to be eliminated in blood

The body will not compensate in sensitivity as it notices no changes in hormonal level and the drug also blocks testosterone, like RU

This drug will be marketed in a few years first for acne and then male pattern baldness prevention, in the meantime we can order it now from various labs selling it as research chemical

I have been using this new drug for a few months now and I am very satisfied much better than RU which I have been using for almost 10 years after finasteride and dutasteride

From 18 years old to 32, my hairline slowly creeped from NW1 to NW1.5 so I started the big 3 as a preventative. One year later, I'm 33 years old with a diffuse nearly NW3. Doctor said my hair loss became suddenly aggressive and nervously shrugged his shoulders. It's over.
