Switched to taking finasteride on monday/wednesday/friday. The first week is almost over but I haven't noticed any change yet. Im wondering what will happen.

I lost quite a bit of density due to all the shedding but Im still hopeful.

Also, the little hairline regrowth I got is still there and the hairs are pretty thick. But overall I'm still losing density.

I've always felt like I never experienced much side effect but Since I switched to taking finasteride only 3 times a week I noticed some positive changes.

- My balls aren't so tense anymore. I never thought much of tense balls and didn't blame finasteride for it but this can't be a coincidence, right?
- My mood is better. I thought I was a little bit moody sometimes because of my hair situation but maybe finasteride made it a little worse.
- Puffy nipples. They were a little puffy but it seems to be a bit better now.
- No change in hairloss.

Maybe this is all in my head, after all I've only changed the dosage 1,5 week ago.

same thing happened with me too.
I have stopped taking Finasteride for two weeks just for a test-run and yes, indeed it worked I suddenly started feeling normal just like old days. I don't know what happened but somehow I felt more energetic and optimistic. This drug certainly has some other role in our body for sure. It changes your mood when you take it.

I never had any regrowth and I thought I was maintaining but was not sure. I had only one issue with finasteride - I had some eyerbrow hair loss and it was noticeable and made me look awful. Googled and found out there were few other cases of that same side effect. I am pretty sure it was because of Finasteride as the eyebrows are growing back again.

I am confused right now. which one to save? Eyebrow or hair?
Anyway, I am pretty sure from my own experience, these side effects are not permanent and will go away after stopping finasteride.

Nah, I dropped minoxidil a few weeks ago.
And no my hairline never receded, only thinned out.

I would just stick with finasteride and minoxidil for a year unless you get gyno.

I can understand you though. It is such a rollercoaster...

I haven't been on this forum for a while, but I wanted to post a little update.

Since I lowered my dose there have been a few changes. My scalp hasn't been this itch-free since before my hair loss started. My nipples are less puffy, which is a huge plus. And in general I feel better.
My hair situation hasn't really changed though. I believe I'm losing ground again, although it's going very slow. (Nothing like before).
I wish I could get some more regrowth.

Hi Vesemir. Ive been following your thread and pretty much only your thread on this forum as im in a similar boat.

I'm 2 months into finasteride. Had some really bad itching and shedding within the first 3 weeks that continued. The itching subsided a few weeks ago and i feel like my hair is shedding a lot less but my hair line took a big hit since starting finasteride. I'm hoping it recovers.

Anyways i really like your postings. Theyre informative and not bias. I really appreciate it.

Thanks my friend. I hope this shows Finasteride is a weird drug. Results really go up and down in a matter of weeks.

You can see a lot of regrowth :)

When I look at this picture which I post October 8, 2016 I wish my hairline would still be like that. It's clear that I've lost a lot of ground because of the sheds. Yes, I grew back some but not enough to make my hair thicker every time. I will continue anyway, it's my last chance.

I will try to upload a picture of my current situation ASAP.

f*** me man. I must be the first guy ever in my family who experienced such aggressive male pattern baldness at this age (23). Diffuse thinning looking terrible.
"Shedding is a good sign, it means treatment is working". Well after 10 months & 29 days on finasteride I really doubt hair I lost during this time will grow back.

Try to be consistent with your photos. I also have the feeling that my status is worsening, but on photos from last July compared to now there is no difference.
Only now I'm better in lightning my hair harshly.

I'm now crawling back to looking positively into the future. But one bad hair day and I again get doubts about wether I'm maintaining and if finasteride works. So I loose an other week on feeling sh*t.

Believe me, I see my hair getting worse, it's just so hard to take good, comparable pictures.
I'm not expecting to grow back hair I've lost months ago...

Lately people have been noticing my thinning hair. I cant hide it anymore. Someone asked me about it and I felt terrible.
I'm starting to think more and more that I have reflex hyperandrogenicity because agressive hair loss doesn't run in my family.
I have an appointment with my dermatologist (who is on finasteride himself) in two weeks. I will tell him all about the last 9 months.

you dropped minoxidil recently ? maybe you got a slight shed because of this ?
you still have less sides with your current propecia dosage ?
