Finasteride And Minoxidil Didn't Work, What To Take Next?

Hi guys, just summing it up, basically what the title says. I have androgenic alopecia and have taken finasteride and minoxidil for over 2 years, but the hair follicles kept getting smaller and smaller still through the treatment. I started to have side effects with the finasteride so I eventually stopped taking it because if it didn't have results it wasn't worth it.

Besides these two treatments what can I do? This is basically what my dermatologist recommended, as if there wasn't anything else. Does Revivogen work?

What are you guys taking for your androgenic alopecia?

Look up CB0301 probably your best bet, but there's also RU, fluridil, nizoral just to name a few other anti androgens. Look around these forums and you'll see a bunch of experimental stuff you can try.

cb is less effecitve than finasteride but maybe op could combine topical finasteride plus cb

im doing something similar with topical finasteride plus oh-flut

feel free to pm me op if you want some guidance

See this is why I'm asking. I don't want to seem like I haven't done my homework by just asking, but this is why I'm asking.

There are so many different products and so many methods, what should I actually be doing after finasteride and minoxidil not working?

I would just try different products, but I would have to stick to it for at least 6 months, and if it doesn't work it's back to square 1 with a more advanced hair line.

Next should be dutasteride...
N don't f*** around with any nonsense weak antiandrogens like ru or even cb. If finasteride didn't work, it must be dutasteride. If you get sides, then stop. Then you can look into seeing if the kitchen sink can work (finasteride, ru, cb, min, micro needling, etc).

What are "ru", "cb", and "min"?

I was searching dutasteride and it said one of the side effects is Gynecomastia?? Even if the likelihood is low, I'm not sure I could ever risk this. I already feel lucky that I don't have any long term symptoms from taking Finasteride.

I saw that one of the recommended treatments on this site is Revivogen, but no one ever talks about it. Does it not work?

RU, CB and min are just short for RU58841, CB0301, and minoxidil.
Gyno is a possible side-effect of both finasteride and dutasteride, although slightly more common with dutasteride due to the slightly greater DHT inhibition. However, if you didn't get gyno from finasteride, I don't think it would be likely that you would from dutasteride.
Revivogen doesn't work, and in your case it is likely that nothing other than dutasteride is going to have a realistic chance of being strong enough to treat your hair loss seeing as finasteride was not strong enough. Dutasteride is the only thing currently available that is actually a more effective treatment than finasteride.

I see, I'll be looking into dutasteride then. I had small hopes for Revivogen seeing that it is apparently natural, but I was pretty skeptical considering I haven't heard of anyone taking it. There were a couple of other treatments on this site and I wasn't sure what worked and what did. I'll be researching more about dutasteride. Thanks!

Upon reading this thread again I noticed that you said you got side-effects from finasteride and that this was part of the reason why you stopped taking it. You need to be aware that dutasteride will be expected to have the same side-effects as finasteride only more severe, as dutasteride is essentially just a stronger version of finasteride. Unfortunately, if you were not able to tolerate finasteride due to side-effects then dutasteride is not an option for you, as it will give you the same side-effects only more severe. CB is probably your best option if you can't tolerate finasteride.

You said you had sides with finasteride that's why I recommended cb if you had sides with finasteride you'll more than likely have ALOT worse sides on dutasteride. I didn't really have sides on finasteride but when I switched to dutasteride I had bad and I mean BAD SIDES it may work better but your gonna risk the sides. CB and RU have a completely different mechanism of action which may help and you can increase the dosage with ru if necessary. If you can tolerate the finasteride sides I'd say just add CB and nizoral. If you can't tolerate finasteride you'll more than likely go through hell with dutasteride.

if finasteride gives you sides then dutasteride will, your only alternative to maintain is RU or CB. If your hair loss is very very mild and not aggressive zix is also an option i guess, but ru and cb are better.

The side that I had was loss of libido. It was pretty scary because I'm very attracted to women, but one day I noticed I wasn't attracted to women at all. It came to the point where I was in bed with a lady friend and I didn't feel anything, she picked up on it and said "what's going on?"

Would you happen to know of any topical dutasteride medication? If I'll look into CB or other meds like you said.

So I am curious. Please explain to me from one guy ( who experiences hair loss, tried to treat it and found himself lacking (sexual) drive) to another guy who experiences hair loss (but is not trying any treatments and can't imagine life without desire): is it worth it?

You are the perfect candidate for micro needling. On the big needling thread there are a couple guys who were in the same shoes as you and started seeing results when they started needling
