So I am curious. Please explain to me from one guy ( who experiences hair loss, tried to treat it and found himself lacking (sexual) drive) to another guy who experiences hair loss (but is not trying any treatments and can't imagine life without desire): is it worth it?
I tried coming to terms with it, I did shave all of my head, but I didn't like it. No matter how much women say they're ok with a bald guy, you can tell they would rather not.

But at the end of the day, it depends on what the person wants. In my case, I would have to accept going bald. It's a catch 22. I want to keep my hair because it affects my quality of life with women, but if I do take finasteride my drive to be with women goes away.

I'm trying to find meds that will allow me to have both. I'm seeing that topical finasteride might not have side effects. Let's see where it goes. But in the end if the sides are too harsh, I'm just going to have to learn how to accept losing my hair.

Most the studies I've read about topical finasteride along with anecdotal reports say it goes systematic and there isn't a significant difference in sides between the two. I mean it makes sense since they tell pregnant women not to handle the pills.

Indeed, and it is also likely that the main mechanism by which it works is due to it going systemic in the first place.

TheHairFollicleThatCould, unfortunately if you can't tolerate oral finasteride, your options are limited. Nothing else is as effective as oral finasteride/dutasteride, and seeing as finasteride wasn't even strong enough to stop your own hair loss, I don't think that any of your other options will be. Have you thought about maybe going down the hair system route?

-I'd argue RU58841 is more effective than both finasteride and dutasteride
- Needle dude. I cant believe so many people on this forum still dont realize just how effective it is
- Last resort: Get on dutasteride, walk around with a limp dick until your hair is back (and forget about women during that time), get off dutasteride, impregnate every female in sight

What is happening, IMO, & same goes for most of guys in this forum is their method of treatment is not strong enough to change status quo. So we hear the familiar story I tried this or that. It doesn’t work... now what.
Everyone’s degree of balding is different, but in general. I would recommend to use spironlactone cream to rub on scalp, forehead, & sides. Azaelic acid can also be used alone or together. If your even more ambitious a 100 mg pill can be taken. Duasteride/Finasteride in pill form is up to you. I have both in liquid form.
Now we can say we have DHT under control.
If you still have your hairy arms, legs, back, beard like before.. trust me you haven’t overdone it.
Next, minoxidil.
There is a 15% solution with Finasteride, Azaelic acid, retinol, caffeine NO propylene glycol, which is heads shoulders more effective than run of mill minoxidil.
Now we are hitting the problem hard.
Microneedling, massage, supplements are helpful as well..
I can still think of more things.
Doctors have prescription drugs. They would up strength to get better results.
