Finasteride And Minoxidil Doesn't Seem To Be Helping, I'm Just Diffusing All Over

I see that you are using minoxidil, did it make any difference to you? Because for me it didn't. The only reason i'm not dropping it is that I added sandalore to it recently and i do not have other vechile. I would drop it otherwise.

I don't believe that you have fake finasteride.

Nah I stopped minoxidil as it was losing its effect and making me skin look haggard and scalp dandruff and irritation and bloating

sandalore? derived from sandalwood? use it topically?

I'm starting to wonder is minoxidil and propecia kill hair rather than help it. Doesn't seem as if either treatments get much support anecdotally here. Scary

When i started minoxidil it was great, i was thinning gradually and it gave me thicker hair and and thicker strands then it started losing its effects which, from what i read, that commonly happens...i'm still on the fence about propecia...and i'm looking a lot worst on it.

i'm debating trying RU

how long ave you been on it...i'm losing hair and getting burning feeling so i decreased my dosage from 1mg to .5 of the finasteride - to ease up on the hair lost/shed (2nd shed) and irritated scalp of Telogen Effluvium i believe (never had this prior to finasteride)...i'm started to regret finasteride but so invested i might give it a full year as i am already at 8 months but some people take 1 and half years or longer even to see results...i don't know. ffs

No I had awesome regroth from finasteride when I first started. At the 1 month mark I stopped losing hair. Then at the 3 month mark hair started growing back and then at 6 months my hair was noticeably thicker and in excellent condition. That was when I was 20, but now I am 24 and minoxidil isn’t doing anything near what finasteride did. In fact minoxidil caused my entire scalp to burn, my hair stopped growing and has become noticeably thinner. I only decided to use the minoxidil because finasteride results were starting to slip. I used the minoxidil for 3 months and now I regret it because I have a dermatitis and if it’s an allergic reaction or not I have no clue. I am now putting minoxidil on my arm to see if over time I develope an allergic reaction and if not I will heal my scalp and retry minoxidil. From now on I am testing chemicals on my arm or something first before my scalp and I am think about giving ru58841 a try.

Actually I just upped my dosage of finasteride to 2.5 mg a day. I think it’s all about genetics because some treatments work great for some, but do horrible things to others. In addition, do not listen to anyone who tells you you are just going through a shedding phase. In the end nobody here is a doctor so if you scalp is on fire to the point you can’t sleep at night then obviously you body is having some sort of reaction. MannyFJ do you have any flacking and or is your scalp painful to the touch?

Dang! I must not be a good responder to finasteride because i'm not seeing noticably thicker but noticably thinner and seeing more scalp...if I keep going which is now 8 months, i might be bald....

minoxidil...if your using the liquid then it contains a non active ingredients that causes irritation maybe try foam - there are tips to make foam into a liquid.

it's more of itching and pimple like bumps and redness...sore scalp, like hurts to move hair around...telogen effuvium is what i believe i have and never had this prior to finasteride and could be reason for hair lost but my hair all over my scalp and body hair is thinner but which i meant the strands itself..miniaturization - not good! i used topical steroid for scalp which seems to help but i'm losing crazy amount of hair, i can run my hand thorough my hair for the entire day and hair will come out and in shower ffs....i don't think i'm a good responder to finasteride

Sorry to hear it because I am dealing with the same nightmare. I went to a dermatologist and was told dermatitis and prescribed a steroid too that I just started using and it does help the soreness and itching. I believe we both have Telogen Effluvium brought on by treatments or the treatments brought on a dermatitis causing Telogen Effluvium to develop from the stress the skin on our scalp is under idk exactly. If you look into dermatitis your symptoms sound related. I mean dermatitis can cause diffuse thinning and Telogen Effluvium so I believe I am in the middle of a snowball effect as far as scalp disorders are concerned and to top it all off androgenetic alopecia. It might not have been the minoxidil that caused this for me because I was also using Nizoral. Anyway, I see on your regimen you have dermarolling and prp. How have those treatments been working for you? I was also thinking about giving topical finasteride a try before ru58841 because I am traumatized and afraid now everything will give me sides.

On the other hand when I was 16 I thought I had Telogen Effluvium, but after losing a lot of hair all throughout my scalp and getting it back on finasteride I realized it was aggressive unpatterned dht related hair loss. I really hope this time it is Telogen Effluvium or dermatitis or I am screwed.

Yeah I gave the foam a try and then I switched to lipogaine sensitive.

Darn man...are you still taking finasteride...any adverse effects from it? I read so many positive and negative reviews my head is spinning...one guy said he finally seen results after 18 months on it. I might stick to it for a year or longer...it's playing russian roulette at the moment for me. i really don't know.

I wasn't getting any flaking or scaling so I am not sure it's dermatitis. I do have very mild psoriasis but this was definitely not this and I was using my steroid ointment for it on my scalp. That being said, I could be suffering from androgenetic alopecia and/or telogen effluvium (Telogen Effluvium)...my hair has never look this bad ever...soon I could be an example of these two conditions if my situation doesn't improve.

I dropped Nizoral as I feel that could be causing the Telogen Effluvium but really helped with flakes from when I was using liquid MIN and not sure if it helped with hair growth. PRP injected in scalp was too painful so I did dermarolling with PRP and obviously at my current situation it's not helping...I could be doing it wrong (I just simply dermaroll the PRP on my scalp).

Some had really bad reactions to RU - cardio issues etc. That's crazy.

How are you doing manny, inmyhead? Is everything better or had **** just been destroyed. I think this is the end for me in this battle I had a prp treatment done a few weeks ago and it might have helped the inflammation because I don’t feel nearly as itchy anymore but I am still losing hair and getting thinner. Now my little bald spot on top is turning into a bigger bald spot and my hairline is f***ed kinda Norwood 2.5 or 3. I think I am gonna try for dutasteride through Murray Ave Apothecary because that is where buckthorn supposedly gets it. I was reading his old posts. If you respond it would be helpful because we are all kinda in the same boat.

Well I'm happy to report my hair and scalp is doing a lot better and have some growth due to going back on minoxidil (no choice as finasteride f'd up my hair) even though minoxidil makes my skin look like sh.t. I don't believe in the prp hype as I tried it on myself...if you google 'prp shock', some ppl had major hair loss from the shock from prp injections...i tested prp by injecting prp on my right side of temple (both temple density went to crap after using finasteride) and the left side looks better and both temple started the same baseline so prp didn't help. Anyways what I did to resolved my scalp and hair loss issue was to taper down the finasteride and not dermal roll and cause irritation to scalp...i used caffeine shampoo to calm scalp and stopped using nizoral and again, didn't prp and/or dermal roll scalp - less is more approached and back to finasteride...went from 1 mg to .5 mg to .25 mg monday - wednesday - friday and now i no longer take it orally but topically with minoxidil m-w-f...i no longer have itchy sore scalp and hair loss/shed....i barely have strands of hair when i run my hand through my hair or when i shower before it was very bad...as for hair growth, minoxidil has always worked so that has helped - again i lost over 50% density from finasteride but believe i gain 25% back and hopefully that continue to increase...finasteride is a sh.t drug for us bad responders to the drug...also i implement massage to increase blood flow and use aloe, castor oil, and peppermint/rosemary oil to scalp to calm and increase hair growth which i believe has helped. i might try trinov as again minoxidil makes my skin/face look like sh.t...good luck on your hair journey man.
