Don't do that.

These are powerful hormone-altering drugs. DHT is not a "waste hormone", it's very important. Even if you hair is thinning, it's not noticeable in the photos and you're obviously freaking out and obsessing over it which is not mentally healthy.

What you really need to do is get off these forums and see a psychologist.
you're dumb

Ok. Have a good day
I'm not trying to be snarky mate. I wish you all the best. And I've seen psychologists before.

I'm just observing that it's causing you a lot of stress and worry and doesn't need to. If you have any balding at all it's very minimal. You have better hair than most men your age. So you shouldn't be freaking out. It's not nice to be freaking out.

That's all.

I'm not angry at all my friend.

You're just being silly and a bit annoying and narcissistic starting multiple posts about your hair that looks like it could belong to a 17 year old.

If you're genuinely freaking out about it you should see a psychologist. That's not an insult. I wish I had hair like you when I was 20.

You’re not an angry person however in the same post where you profess this you subsequently go on to label another poster ‘annoying’ , ‘silly’ and ‘narcissistic’. Yes ,ok, not angry at all … lol

I'm 21 and my crown looks similar to yours. Even though I have full coverage on top, I can see and feel that the texture is a little different. Needless to say, it's not a good sign.

Edit: by full coverage I meant that to other people, I have zero hair loss, when in fact I do. It may be not genetic, but something caused my hair to fall out and so far it hasn't come back

I have the same kind of hair loss, it's just really early crown loss. The only reason I spotted the crown thinning was because my hairline started thinning first so I checked my crown. People who have really bad crown loss have probably had it for years but never noticed it until it got really bad.

Yes and I don’t for one second assert or believe my hair is in an AWFUL way and I’m one step of NW7… however I can see thinning whether it early or really early , but it’s there.

Glad to see some others can see and appreciate what I’m referring to . Some posters in here consider you mad if you’re not as extensively bald as others …. I liken it to an amputee who has lost their full arm telling a fellow amputee they are not an amputee and are paranoid as they have only lost their hand and not their full arm . An extreme analogy, but an analogy all the same lol

Not yet. If you scroll though my posts, you'll see my story. To sum it up, I had T.E and didn't recover completely. Thin spots on sides and my most damaged area, the crown, still hasn't filled up, and probably won't.

My biggest fear is that it ended up accelerating male pattern baldness, if I was predisposed to it that is. No male pattern baldness in my family, but still, you never know...

If I see any further I'll jump on finasteride immediately. For now, I go on with my ultra mega combover to hide the thin spot on my crown.

Some will say "BrUh YoU hAvE BdD", and well, I don't get defensive when I read something like that. To the naked eye, I'm a full head of hair. My hairline is not receding by any means, but I know more than anyone that I've lost hair. See that part in the back where it starts wavying? It doesn't happen on top, where it used to years ago. If it was T.E that I had, it should have grown already, but it hasn't.

I can't make any hairstyle because the top gets completely weirded out, so I have no choice other than combing to the sides. When I wake up in the morning my crown looks horrible, but 30 min in the bathroom is enough time for me to do the ~combover~.

This week I returned to washing my hair daily, and I'm losing approximately 16 hairs in the shower. Plus what I get through the day, it sums to 30-35 hairs. Don't know if I should be alarmed or if it's an indicative of anything. Truth to be told, it doesn't compare to what I was losing when I was facing T.E. 200 hairs per day, and the washing day was a horror scene.

Anyway, I'm keeping my eye on it for now and therefore not using any treatments. I'll though, if it gets worse.

Interesting , when I wake my crown looks horrible too and I also have to brush to the side so the crown follows ‘it’s natural swirl ‘ as my barber says.

I can see why you’re worried about crown thinning .. it’s one of those ones where it’s borderline thinning / borderline just your natural crown.

30-35 hairs a day is normal , actually less than normal as they say normal hair fall is 100.

It's good you don't get defensive, because you're not going bald. Saying someone has BDD - a mental disorder - is a little bit offensive maybe, so I won't say that anymore. But it's also good that you're not using any treatments. Sounds like you're being wise to me ... keep an eye on it, if it becomes obvious, then start treatment.

My only advice would be that if you use finasteride, start on a very low dose. I don't even take it orally and I'm DEFINITELY going bald. lol. There is no guess work or "maybes" involved. But if I were to take it, I'd take 1/2 of 1mg every second day. Studies show that's it's almost as effective as 1mg every day and those people saying that it's "safe" and has no side effects are clueless or making excuses to justify their own desire to take it. It is literally a drug men take to transition to trans-women and side-effects are widely reported. Not only a limp dick, but in some cases even growing boobs (gyno). Who knows what else it's doing to your natural male hormones on a more detailed level?

I appreciate your comment and apologize for my behaviour on my reply to your comment last week. Anyway, I might not have classic male pattern baldness but I do know I have some form of hair loss going on. I know my hair. It wasn't like that before I had T.E, or at least was what those useless derms told me. 2019, 2020, 2021, early 2022. If it was T.E, at this point I should've recovered what I lost, UNLESS the allergy ended up scarring the follicles.

My shedding was a nightmare, it was far from normal. Whoever sheds the way I did while I was facing that knows the impact on mental health. It was absolutely draining and slowly I became a slave of my own hair. Not to mention the consequences it brought, such as acne due to the heavy oiliness, the itchiness that never ceased completely and the absolute lack of confidence. I firstly blame my hair loss and secondly myself for the end of my relationship and the dozens of job interviews I failed, because my social anxiety back then was at its peak.

I don't know, really don't know what to do. I am considering a fourth derm appointment this year, but my expectancies are low given my previous experiences. I shaved my hair twice last year, if I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel I'll shave it again and go to treatments, whatever.
