That's the wrong way of framing it and it also depends on how you define dumb, and that's quite alarming if you're going to become a psychologist.

If we're talking about cognitive ability, there are people who are dumb in that sense because they have an IQ of 80, and not matter how much they try to educate themselves, they won't become smarter. They will never be able to read instructions and follow them for example. IQ is pretty much static so they'll always be stuck at that point no matter how hard they try.

You can also have an IQ of 130 and fail to educate yourself properly. But that person will still have the potential to turn things around and to become smarter. And since one way to define IQ is the speed at which you can process complex cognitive tasks, they'll be able to catch up quite quickly.

The guy I replied that to said that it's pointless to discuss philosophy with women (!!! WTF?!), and I replied that I'm qualified to discuss and that I have background on what I'm writing. That was the only purpose on writing that, if you have proper reading comprehension you wouldn't spin things around, since you are spinning it's ad hominem type of discussion. Worthless.

Also I wrote 100% true and even encouraging posts here to guys about hair and yes I could fall in love with the guy Charlote in Sex and the City fell in love with, short bold guy, but you are just that biased and shallow not to understand falling in love with a person! This has never been about vanity for me in the sense that I don't objectively care what I look like. This is 100% practical for me.

I've struggled to be attractive to women my whole life due to being subpar in every physical category we as men are judged by.

Even though I am getting older and my youth has passed, being able to get women I want is still a driving ambition. I have learned with time that I cannot turn that off. I have also learned with time that all the things people tell you to do to "compensate" for being physically unattractive don't really work very well, unless you're at least physically average to start with.

If I could get women I want as is, I would never worry about my hair or appearance at all. However I am already struggling in this domain and I can't afford to have it get worse.

This is why hair loss is unacceptable to me. I not only need to maintain every shred of attractiveness I have, I need to improve as well. This is why I have a balloon with 160 ml of water under my scalp (going to 400) for forehead reduction, which I am now having to hide with hats because it already looks absurd (and I have two months to go). This is why I am arranging more jaw surgery consults despite already having a face full of titanium screws.

The motivation to be loved and wanted by women I want as well is one of the strongest remaining drives I have left in life. It dwarves any personal sense of "vanity" I have, which is almost none.

Almost all the girls I met on dates were looking for a honest long-term partner who they find attractive, interesting and compatible with them. You know, what girls say they usually want, and it's largely true. I believe that in the future, we'll have more and more examples of those women who permanently refused to commit to a relationship until it was too late.

Hopefully they'll be good examples driving younger women not to go down the same road.

The challenge is that most women don't find most men attractive. And that's where the perception stanx describes is coming from.

I don't think it's coincidence that this perspective has spread like wildfire over the past 10 years and is now commonplace among young men.

I am not saying it is a conspiracy to make women this way. I think it's a combination of online dating leading women into filtering men into yes and no categories, them generally all using roughly the same criteria to do so (so you will increasingly get hundreds of matches/dates or none at all), and men becoming increasingly aware of it.

You're just lucky to be in that percent they find attractive.

Well said. The majority of people do fall into this average category, just like you stated.
And these folks are more then capable of improving their life position if they choose to .

The percentage of "dumb" and "unable to be educated" people is often overstated by the less exposed to real life members of this forum.

You can easily pick the type.. those that have been blessed with a relatively privileged pathway in life.
So it's understandable that their exposure to "stupid" people is mostly in the form of fictional caricatures.
