A lot of people are taking generic finasteride from places like Inhouse. It looks like Cipla is a big supplier of the generic brand. Has anyone ever tested the generics for legitimacy or potency? I could see them being real, but with less potency possibly. The reason why I bring it up is that I was on regular Propecia, then later generic. The effects weren't the same, right down to the side effects. Makes me curious about it, the generic brand might simply not have the same potency, or at worse be non effective at all compared to regular Propecia. I assume out of all the people taking generic someone actually tested it?

if a generic med is manufactured in the US or UK (or any western country for that matter) then surely you can't doubt its legitimacy? They're subject to the same stringent standards as the 'original' manufacturers of the drug (in this case Merck). What does it matter which pharma company name is actually printed on the box? There would be big scandal if one of these companies was manufacturing dodgy meds - it would be all over the news.

The finasteride I get is from a large high street pharmacy chain. I don't care who actually manufactures it because I know it has to be legit. Generic medications are used for far more serious conditions than male pattern baldness - life-threatening conditions.
