I'm going to go on dutasteride if my hair loss doesnt slow down in the next couple months..
I see generic is quite a bit less than real avodart.
wondering if anyone has an opinion why or why not to get generic.

I'll finish out what i have left of my propecia.. 25 pills.. if i dotn see a decrease in hair loss i'm making the switch..

If i do see a decrease within 25 days then i'll dump the dutasteride.. but i want to have it ready.

Jeffsss, i really can't recommend all this regimen hopping. You may end up inducing a nasty shed with dutasteride.

I have used almost 9 months Dutas (generic dutasteride) with great results.
Recently I got a prescription, aparently real avodart with a prescription is cheaper (30$).
Did you try to get one?

Jeff - I'm not sure that's wise. The finasteride hasn't had time...you are literally hopping for no reason yet. That's right, 6 months isn't long enough..no matter how you feel. Cook 'n Milkies called it right - if you're shedding as much as you say on finasteride, you may not have seen nothin' yet. What will you do if the shedding doubles? Then what?

Dutasteride seemed to have halted any shedding that I was going through.

And although I don't recommend anyone go off finasteride 6 months into treatment, what if Jeffsss benefits from Dutasteride?

It's the stronger DHT inhibitor out there, and shedding is a rare case on a DHT inhibitor. Is it not possible that taking it might stop his shed, and help to regrow some hair?

well i've said it before, i'll say it again...

Merck never mentioned anything about "shedding" in fact the only place i hear about shedding is on forums.

I've never seen one documented article about "shedding" aside from the ones that forums produce.

I don't think there is such thing as shedding with the exception of minoxidil.

"shedding" is just rapid hair loss... it aint coming back!

so what will i do you ask? accept it i guess. I'm destin to be bald.

I think that different people react differently to drugs.

In my case propecia did absolutely nothing and I kind off regret ,

I didn’t start with dutasteride sooner.

I'm not discounting that it might work. It might or it might not. If he tries it, I wish him all the success in the world (although I hope he does it under the supervision of his doctor). But...the issue is impatience. It's understandable...we all have it. However, I fear Jeff's desperation may delay any progress that may already be in the works. Switching horses mid-stream isn't usually a good tactic. Sure, if he's not seeing any improvement after 12 months, reevaluate...but 6 months ain't sh*t. Just don't want to see the guy worsen his predicament because of not giving something time to kick in. It's a free country though...

Sound advice, IDOASIS.

Jeffsss, take pictures, man, hoards of them.

My crown is incredibly damn thick after all this treatment, and can see it slowly thickening up the front from the back up.

Pictures, Consistency, and Patience!

How can you fail here?
