theres quite a few games actually especially in recent times that have balding men, or at least receding hairlines. Something happened culturally during the late 90s mid 00s that a slightly recessed hairline was seen as masculine? its a hard thing to keep track of but thats certainly what i perceived. Youve also got to consider cultural impact, in america receding hair lines probably have a negative connotation. In russia/FSU on the other hand, it doesnt seem to be perceived as such a big deal. Strange country, Putin both balding heavily and a short man, is considered sexy by many russian women. True power does wonders for your sex appeal i suppose.

Strelok the main character from STALKER, has a high recession at the temples, befitting what looks to be a middle aged man.

Trevor the most popular character from the latest GTA game has seriously bad balding.

Max payne in the last of his titular series shaves his head down to the skin at one point in the game.

Agent 47 from the hitman games as has been pointed out, seems to have a complete lack of scalp follicles.

I'm sure theres more but those are the ones from the top of my head. So balding/bald will be portrayed by lead characters/heroes, however, one thing a designer will never ever ever do, is give a lead/strong character..... a weak jaw/chin.

I work in the video game industry.

Some of the most popular writers, character designers and artists even down to the indie level whose work gets slammed as being "sexist" and "male power fantasies" are women.

Consumers and critics keep insisting it's all for men, but I've never once heard anyone in the business personally say "Yeah, we redesigned her to appeal to males better" or anything to that effect. Statistics keep showing that half and some years a majority of consumers are women. Years ago, I worked in video game retail and was the only male at the store. However, I've seen plenty of sexist consumers. Guys who wouldn't play games because it has a female protagonist or moms and grandmas who'd walk in and say "where are the games for girls". I don't know, all the girls here are really into Mortal Kombat, so over there I guess...

Video games are escapism. I don't want to be a balding guy who has to take Propecia in real life, why the f*** would I want to be one in a virtual world where I can be anything?

take away indie and mobile gamers and its mostly male demographic. some casual BS doesn't count. lol that guy they were prolly in the ds section looking at more shallow sh*t . girls will never understand the deep yearning for another world like men, especially ugly men, will. which is also why your other point is whack. all the notable game creators are men, some random very minor character designer every 10th employee doesnt matter. if the women are fat or unattractive and dont hate incels it shud be okay to let them make it though

last game i really loved was saints row 4 and ofc 90+ % of the makers were male. its pure escapism like you said. women don't need that lmfao.
