I personally think it's from being sedentary and having excess fat. I doubt it's caused from finasteride and is glandular. What do you guys think?

To be honest with you it looks like gyno, but I am not an expert on any that front. The best thing of course is to go to your gp/doctor as soon as possible.

Here are some more photos.

The way I see it some men just have fat in their chests when they gain weight. Look at my belly in the one photo. You can see their is lots of extra fat their. Look at a sumo wrestler. They have tatas too from their extra fat. I don't think it's true gyno.

I've gone up and down in weight and it seems when I lose weight the chest fat dissapears. But when I gain weight it comes back...

I think your fine. Just looks like you should do some push ups

Well I certainly get more responses on this website than I do on gynecomastia.org. I haven't got responses from anyone there yet. From the short amount of reading I've done on that site they say any kind of enlarged chest is gyno. C'mon people... They are clearly in it to convince people they need surgery, when in fact many men could just lose 20 lbs and be fine. I've read on other gyne sites that if it isn't glanular related losing weight should help get rid of pseudo gyno. I'm almost positive mine is pseudo and will go away. To prove this I am going to quit alcohol, lose weight, and not take finasteride. I will be back to normal in 1 month.

didnt know you are on finasteride.

Well do everything you just said. If it goes away youre fine if not its the finasteride.

Know though that finasteride gyno doesnt go away when you stop taking it.

Honestly though they just look like fatty titties, and I think with some exercise you should be fine. Get a punch kick bag.

find out though before you turn into b**ch tit bob!

Don't say things like that swingline, it hut me in the past. And it will hurt him too when he finds out it doesn't help, that what people who are oblivious to the horror of true gynecomastia say.

Some people told me that when I had my boobs, you can't make actual mammal gland disappear by working out. In fact, it's going to push the gland and make it stand out even more.

That's like saying to a balding young guy he should stop putting gel in his hair and it will grow back.

Well believe it or not when I flex there isn't much fat there.... I honestly believe that I have pectoral muscle that has gone a little flabby because I've been lazy for 8 + months. I haven't done barely any exercise, have been sitting around with poor posture, and drinking 10 - 20 excessively hoppy beers a week. Plus eating poorly. Like 3 bowls of cereal in the morning, sandwhiches at noon and pizza at night. I'm going to boost my T levels, exercise (mainly cardio and yoga), eat healthy, and then reassess where I'm at in a month (July 1st). I'm not expecting a complete resolution. I will probably have some glandular gyno but most men do. I just am hoping it will look better than it does now. Thanks for all of your input.

I didnt tell him working out would make it go away. I said I didnt personally think it was gyno and if not some diet and work out will help. Look at this line

"Well do everything you just said. If it goes away youre fine if not its the finasteride"

If its NOT gyno his precaution should help. If it is it wont and he will then know. Personally they dont look any more like the b**ch tits some of my overweight friends had.

Dont tell him it is until he tries everything first, or else you will just freak him out and this forum would be no better than propeciahelp

This! Ever since Fred gave me negative reputation for my gyno advice post I've been researching gyno. Apparently propecia is one of the first drugs thrown out there to be a cause of gynecomastia. I wasn't aware that the drug had that big of a reputation for gyno since the FDA studies said gynecomastia didn't happen more than the placebo. I went to gynecomastia.org and read posts on the forum and other forums. They claim any amount of chest fat gained won't go away without surgery. Fear mongering! I've personally had my chest fat go away by losing weight before, and I'm going to try damn hard to do it again! There is an obvious incentive to convince young men that they need surgery so that surgeons can make money. It's no different than a shill for their stupid laser devices or snake oils. I've seen plenty before and after pics of dudes with chest fat and stomach fat losing the fat and replacing it with muscle. Right now my chest feels like your calf muscle when its relaxed, loose and flabby, but when I flex it it becomes hard. Because my lifestyle was so ****ty it won't be too hard to make some key changes and hopefully reverse the damage, or at least prevent it from getting any worse. Unfortunately this means goodbye keto shampoo and finasteride. Yeah that's right keto shampoo. Apparently it's an antiandrogen that causes man boobs more than any other medication if taken orally. I don't want to absorb that **** into my system. Where I'm at right now my gf doesn't seem to notice or mind so I've got that going for me. But I definitely don't want to end up like meatloaf on fight club, or get any worse. I refuse to give into the fears of the internet gynecomastia bull**** that is out there. Maybe I'm in denial, but we'll see.

If it is gynecomastia this might be bad news for finasteride users. You can see in my beach photos above that was 3 years into finasteride. Those were taken in 2006. It wouldn't have been until 5 years later that I started to notice my man boobs getting bigger as I gained weight. Granted I was drinking beer daily and gained weight to be 195 lbs so that might have been part of it. But the finasteride wouldn't have been helping. 6 months later I quit finasteride and lost weight. I was happy with the state of my chest at a lesser weight (165 lbs). As of this morning I weigh 182.5 lbs and am just out of shape. Let's see if you people can do the math...

What part of this looks skinny to you Fred?

Also note at the top of the photos you can see my head. I'm purposely hunching over to try to accentuate the fat in my chest and belly.

Note that this is me lying down. No chest fat to be seen what so ever. Is that still normal for someone with gyno?

Well, by the length of your posts, you're obviously freaking out. You want a definitive answer quickly? Book an appointment with a gynaecologist (I'm not kidding).

That's what I did, because endocrinologists are overbooked for months, the gynaecologist will be able to tell right away.

I'll lose the weight first. If I'm still concerned about it after rebuilding my physique I will maybe look into it. Otherwise I'd probably be fine just living with what I got.

Update:

I did have a 4 beers over the past week. But I still managed to solidly lose 2 lbs through primarily cardio. I didn't cut down on food but am eating more fruits and vegetables. No visible changes in the chest but that wouldn't be expected yet.

I did see my Dad with his shirt off the other day. He is obese I would estimate his BMI to be about 32 or so. He definitely has a fatty chest. In his prime he could do 100 pushups and bounce his chest easily. So I'm thinking the fact that he had muscle cells there played a part in his chest fat development. It's reassuring to know that the chest fat is somewhat genetic for me. I will keep at it and hopefully be able to drink less beer. I have a max 4 beers a week. 2 days 2 beers each day tops. I will slowly cut down from there. I think a cold turkey quit could result in a relapse. As long as I keep control and don't make a mile out of an inch I should be ok.

No, pushups or muscle development will NOT reduce his body fat/man boobs.

He needs to do cardio; basketball, soccer, tennis are all great ways, however swimming is THE BEST as it works all your body parts and muscles.

It will not help actual mammal gland to shrink either. Sometimes, fat cannot be lost through exercise, I dropped to 63 kg for 190 cm once. I Still had my abdominal fat.

Abdominal fat/spare tire is IMPOSSIBLE to be rid of. Its naturally where your body reserves the fat for extended calorie use.
Its ONLY diminish-able through extreme diets.
As hard as I work out and diet I can NOT get rid of mine. Only time I did I was using extreme fat burners and basically living off fresh juice. I went from my normal 205-210 to 180lbs.
Ill admit my tummy looked great, my head was shaved and I looked like a cancer patient or crackhead in my face though. People at work told me when I gained the weight back they thought I was sick and didnt want to say anything.

No, it IS possible and happens often.

This is false. It's simple math; you need to burn off more calories than you consume in order to lose the weight. Cardio will do that.

I think you are taking me a bit serious.
YOU of course need to manage your caloric intake to what you burn daily. But in most cases its still extremely hard to be rid of.
You NEED diet to get a good stomach. No amount of running or situps does it alone.
It is the hardest spot for your body to burn away fat from.

Its not "simple math". Its actually quite a bit of math, dedication, extreme research, exercise and care.
A lot of people do it wrong and actually hurt their bodies more than they help.
