that's what Propecia helped me maintain for 3 years

Then why the hell did you drop it?
Side effects Side effects Side effects ...... Got to be too much. They came and went for most of the 3 years, but at the end my estrogen skyrocketed and it became too much.

Lizzad are you gonna be nice on other forums about HairLossTalk.com?

What makes you think you were mistaken? You're right on. Above I re-stated that I dropped it. Someone asked me why too. Am I misunderstanding your question?

HairLossTalk.com did you try with much lower doses?
Yes, first I lowered my dose to 0.75mg. That gave me about a month of relief. Then they came back. Lowered it to 0.5mg and had no change. Waited about a week and lowered it to 0.375mg. I had it custom compounded by CommunityDrug.com at this dose. I was able to use that for a few months, and then they came back again. Seemed like my tolerance to estrogen was changing? I have no idea. Neither do any doctors. Anyways, I've only been able to escape the side effects by finally completely stopping it.

HairLossTalk.com,

You're not doing _that_ bad after quitting finasteride. 1.5 years ago. Did you get your hormone levels measured after quitting finasteride.? If so, can you please send me a private message and restate them and also indicate how much later after quitting Propecia you had them tested? I am particularly interested in your DHT, test., total est., and estradiol (E2).

I am going to see a reproductive endocrinologist at Yale Med. in November. I am going to request a sperm count test along with all the full hormonal stuff. As you recall, my total estrogen is through the roof. I am getting my sperm tested for peace of mind. I'm only 21 and I don't want anything to f*ck with my little swimmers.

Anyway, I'll look forward to that private message.

D.

I think your hair looks fine.. I can see the difference of course from before. But your density is still excellent and your hairline is still superb.. just some diffuseness as you state in the front.

Your loss doesn't seem to be that aggressive.. i think you can maintain it without propecia.. You're lucky that your thickness and density were way above average before hairloss..

HairLossTalk.com - your hairloss lucks kinda irregular to me, its like a smooth diffuse across the hairline, it kinda looks like you have the same density as the rest of your hair, but about 1/4 the hairs in the area, that kinda right? I gotta say in your "styled" picture with long hair, people would slap you in the face if you said you had hairloss, best coverup ever man. you could be a hair model with the hair in that pic.

I'm amazed you're hairloss has progressed so slowly, especially after dropping the propecia. Best of luck to you man, and thanks for posting the pics. It takes a lotta guts to do that, especially considering who you are on this board :)
