Hello Friends! First of all sorry for my bad english. Before 1.5 years i was living in Dubai , UAE . Soft water was supplied to the residants and my hair were very strong and thick. My friends wished to have hairs like me .. But in 2013 i migrated to Islamabad , Pakistan. Here we use Bore water (Hard water). at that time i didnt had knowledge of the damages that hard water can cause to my hair :jackit:. After Bathing i usually see number of hairs on toilet floor but i ignored. One day my brother told me that ur head scalp is visible and hairs r missing at ur head crown. I Captured The photo of my head and was really shoked. The bad thing is that in this country there no shower filters available anywhere and the purified water also contains calcium which causes hairloss . . Now i bath Only once a week.
Is there someone Who can help me i know most of you know how a person who's head is full of hairs feel when he starts losing that large amount of hair! :( Thank You

Hello mate, I really doubt hard water is causing your hairloss, if it was the water surely you would be losing hair everywhere not just on your crown.

Its more likely to be male pattern baldness and although im sure that is not what you wanted to hear, don't panic there are treatments available so do some research on "the big 3"

How can it be male pattern baldness.. im just 19 :(

so am I and a lot of others on the forum. Look at the thread in my signature. Before I started treatment my male pattern baldness was far worse than yours.

It can happen any time after puberty. Teen balding is rare but it happens. It is not that devastating, there are treatments such as finasteride and dutasteride we have and if you start them you may keep it for life

If you think it's the water try out a decent shower filter. I'd be more worried about chlorine and other chemicals than the minerals that make up hard water...

Denial is the first stage.

Hop on RU58841. You're too young for Finasteride... plus that will leave you with a limp penis... and what good is that if you have hair... may as well go bald with a function penis.

Are there any clinical trials that have proven RU to be safe, because I have yet to see any? What I have seen are guys that have used RU complain about the same sides as finasteride. All this finasteride is poison, start using grey market treatments sold by some dude overseas crap is just insane.

As far as your "Now i bath Only once a week" comment. Don't do that. That's just disgusting.

Yes. Get out of denial stage! The good news is catching it young can lead to improved results. Also, take advice of other posters. Get on finasteride and consider Minoxidil and Nizoral (BIG 3). It took me years to start treating my hair. Don't waste time.

Get on treatments. I know it's hard to accept and that it's easy to come up with all good stories about losing hair, but the reality is harsh. Many people in here started balding before they were even 19. I started at 19. So it does happen, unfortunately. But if you get on the treatments - you'll likely get good results!

Oh man poor guy, that's when it starts for people who have severe hair loss. I've seen those who start having crown loss around 18 and if they don't jump on finasteride they are usually prominent horseshoe or full baldies by 30.

My crown loss started in my early 20's and I jumped on finasteride and am now 31 and have maintained what I had when I started treatment. Wish I would have started earlier could maybe have prevented it all together as it's difficult to get back what is already gone, but unfortunately you don't start treatment until it's already happening!

Anything is possible some people are great responders to finasteride the sooner you start treatment the better. For most the area will thicken a little and will stop further hairloss which is still huge compared to the alternative of going bald.

finasteride really is your best option as it's the only treatment proven to stop or even reverse hairloss. I would go to your dermatologist and get their input and see if they will write you a prescription. You can also try Minodoxil for added regrowth but I would give finasteride a year and see where you're at before committing yourself to applying that to your scalp everyday for the rest of your life..

Best of luck.

You have been given some good advice on here.. I know its hard to accept its male pattern baldness but the sooner you do and start treatments the better it will be. You have a good chance of stopping the loss and thickening it up a bit.. I started balding at 23. Im 34 now and still have a pretty good head of hair. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Yes it is the hard water! your follicles are clogged, first thing stop using hard water to shower. secondly microneedling can help bring blood to the scalp and scalp massages, best of luck!

had to correct all the idiots

What do you mean by 'your follicles are clogged'? In what way does hard water clog one's follicles? I am making an honest question here, cause your statement got me curious as water itself could be a factor that influences on hair loss, although not completely

The water does mix with the soap therefore leaving behind a residue.. same reason u get soap residue in tubs with hard water and not soft...
