Has Anyone Recovered From A Reflex-hyperandrogenicity From Finasteride At All?

I think reflex hyperandrogencity is my biggest hurdle to starting finasteride when your hair is still decent. Which is ironic since prevention is key. I’ve researched it a bit but not much has been discussed about it. Only that it’s rare and you’ll notice it if a few months into finasteride you still have more libido, sweating, facial hair, acne, and oiliness.

Another thing I’ve seen discussed is that if you’re losing your hair and your dht levels are low, it implies that a lot of your hair loss is due to androgenic sensitivity, seeing as how even low androgen levels still cause you hair loss. And maybe, just maybe an attribute of this type of sensitivity is a dynamic response to changes in hormonal levels. But again, I really have no clue.
Still we don't know whether it's RH or increase in test thts causing it...

I highly doubt it’s the increase in test that’s accelerating any hair loss. It may be that you continue to lose hair on finasteride because test is still bad for your follicles. But the slight increase in test from taking finasteride shouldn’t accelerate that loss to any noticeable degree. This is for finasteride specifically

dutasteride can make your test high enough to impact some hair loss IMO, where are you losing ground? Temples?
Actually duta worked for 6 months then I had a shed so I quit for 6months nd my hair started thinning rapidly so again I hv duta since a month

You quit... what did you expect? Your case isn’t RH or an increase in test, it’s that you decided to stop during a shed and made it worse

That’s balding. It’s how it works.

How is your now ?..
I already mentioned that I couldn’t get back to my baseline of right before starting oral finasteride or the beginning usage of finasteride which was better to what my hair density is now. Im using topical finasteride and fluridil daily and not sure if either is helping or maintaining. Im curious about oral or topical duta

There is no “going back to baseline” once you quit treatment. If you were on dutasteride for 6 months and quit during a shed it’s going to take at least three months for the shed to grow back - thats 9 months. Realistically these finasteride/dutasteride induced telogen effluviums take 6-12 months to completely recover from. That’s a 12-18 months past baseline. Another year+ of natural balding/catch-up loss.
I read about so many guys chasing a baseline that doesn’t exist anymore, but they’re so desperate to get back a hair density that they feel was almost stolen from them, that they start a new treatment and repeat the whole cycle. Forever chasing a fictitious baseline.

Hair lost is inevitable so it’s obvious to most that there will always be a degradation of hair density but telling someone they will completely recovery from telogen effluvium in a certain period is incorrect some never fully recover from it and that includes women, as well.

Not on this site, that’s my point.
