I believe different people's hair follicles have different androgenic "thresholds" dictated by their genes.

To really simplify things just look at how many women you see even older women like 50+ years old are in advanced stages of male pattern baldness or in high Norwood? Now how many men are there? Now what is the major difference between a man and a women like if a man has a sex change he takes hormone therapy to become more like a women. See where this is going the difference is hormones and perfectly matches all the science so far about castration stopping hair loss, male hormones causing it, and all of that. It just makes sense.
Is not there an 80/20 rule where something is 80 percent genetic and 20 percent environment? Maybe that holds true for male pattern baldness where you can slightly alter your outcome through things like diet, exercise and that. With bad genetics though your still doomed by the 80 percent that mainly dictates your going bald no matter what unless you try what science offers us right now.
