And hair loss limits you as well. For instance, it's a hot as hell day here in NY and it'd be an ideal day to go to the beach. Yet when my hair is wet, it looks like complete sh*t and I don't want to walk around with my hair looking like a diffused, extremely receded mess. And what about the totally bald guys? They'd be forced to put sunscreen on their heads, which is just an extremely embarrassing thing to do. Only some socially-retarded sh*t-*** like Larry David would put sunscreen on his head.

Thanks for sharing, bro. This last thing you mentioned was something that bothered me this summer. Hopefully, my new regimen will allow me a bit more freedom next summer.

I wouldn't dare submerge my head into any body of water in public with my hairline in its current state...beaches, pools, out of the question. I also limit where I ride my motorcycle. I pretty much only go for joy rides and come back home. I'm too paranoid to ride it anywhere and pull my helmet off at the risk of messing up my combover and exposing my temples.

Tired of this sh*t restricting me

I hate to say this, but you choose to live this way. So did I....

If you just expose them, and let the world know you're balding I think you will be more content with yourself.

Where as you are trying to hard to expose to people your deepest ridden insecurity.

Looking back, my life would of been much better if I just accepted that I had bald temples. I would of had girlfriends, gone camping and done all those water activities that I opressed myself from. IT would of made zero difference, but like anything your pride, and ego gets in the way

Its hard to accept, but had you of just came to accept that youre balding, and stop trying to hide it from everyone you would of been way happier in the process. Not only would you have healthier relationships, but you wouldn't feel like you are on the verge all the time. Would be less personal, and more yourself.

I know it's hard to accept, I to had to much of an ego, and pride. Doesn't help when you have other negative features.

I never accepted it myself, and endured a lot of pain. A transplant was the only way to fix this, even if the density isn't great. At least I wont be bald.

Well dude, I mean, It's kind of easy for you to say these things from the other side now that you've gotten a transplant back to the appearance of a full head of hair...

I hate to word it like this but what you said kind of comes across as a "just shave it bro" mentality

ITS NO INCURABLE STOP SPREADING THIS NON TRUE sh*t!!!! Feel like a broken record..... Finasteride 86% at or above Baseline after 10!!! Years. For dutasteride 99,6% at or above Baseline after four Year!!! . If you really love your hair (which is absolut legit) hope on dutasteride as soon as you can and never come back. And all your anecdotes about dutasteride not doing or worsening hairloss will be ignored!.

You have valid points.

But inhibiting basically all of your DHT which is an important hormone for sex and libido cannot be good for your body.

Also not many guys can tolerate the side effects of finasteride. I couldn't.

Severe brain fog, anxiety issues, ED, testicle and prostate pain.

And it's been proven finasteride affects neurosteroids in the brain.

If you can tolerate finasteride or dutasteride than I am happy for you. Problem is for some guys it fucks them up.

Lots of guys get terrible side effects from finasteride, myself included. I even soldiered through the side effects and kept taking finasteride much longer than I should have, just because I was absolutely terrified of going bald. I'd take finasteride every day if I could, but it gives many men terrible side effects, like Bobster just pointed out.

Uh exactly. what I am trying to say is that if you just stopped putting so much effort to hide your hair, and just keep it short you would be happier.

Most guys do t get side effects.

Sorry but you're an extreme minority compare to the millions of men prescribed Proscar for there prostate among those who take 1mg dosages for androgenic related hair loss.

I have been taking accutane lately, and that is a drug that I consider side effects in a bottle. I have never had side effects on prescription medication until I took this one in particular. All those sides you read on the warning advisory, almost all I am experiencing, except for hair loss

Most don't have experience side effects.
It seems that men with low dht are those who experience sides.

Most men don't realize the finasteride sides creeping in more likely, almost everyone gets sides from finasteride, I got them right at the start.

I agree with everything you said.

Finasteride is actually 93% at or above baseline after 10 years if you look at the Rossi 10-year study. Only 8 people worsened and of the people worsened they stabilized slightly below baseline.

That's just not true and I am virtually certain that finasteride's side effect profile is higher than the 2% that they claim it to be. I've gotten terrible side effects from finasteride and since I've been a big weight-lifter nearly all of my life, it certainly wasn't because I had low DHT. Not at all. Plenty of men on here have gotten side effects as well including Bobster.

I am not advocating that people do not try finasteride. Not at all. To all newcomers, try out finasteride. It really could stop or significantly lessen your hair loss, and you could be lucky enough not to develop any side effects from it as well. I am aware that plenty of people do not develop sides from finasteride, but plenty of people do develop sides as well.
