For me, I would need a small number of grafts at this point to return to NW1, maybe 1500 max, maybe less than 1000. I don't know that it would be worth the risk for someone in my position (it is still a moderately risky procedure in 2017, even with the top surgeons)

I definitely do think about how nice it would be though to run full hairline exposure game. Depending on how much more regrowth I get from finasteride and minoxidil in the next couple years (I'm still getting regrowth after a year in) I may reconsider the procedure

I already know with my hair/skin type I should prepare for the full caucasian 3 month+ redness like @shookwun. if it doesn't then thats a bonus.

i'd only quit my job because i'm planning on leaving anyway, not really an option for people who need to stay at theirs ofc

i would go full hermit mode for 1 month post-op, then possibly do some travelling in europe alone the following month. all this requires much more money than just the transplant cost so i'd save loads before

I'm almost at 4 months and redness has decreased maybe 50% since baseline but still looks ridiculous.

I would be shortly after flying over to Italy, and using Dante' s forehead as a run/landing strip for my Boeing 777. Celebrate, and find the nearest brothel.
Give Dante a break.

having red scabs beyond a week is rare and even those are not horrible. Months of real redness is so rare its not worth worrying about and if you are that scared, spend a few months/weeks building a tan base prior to hide it. I was fortunate enough to start while I still had some hair to swoop and cover with. If you can, do it while thats available as going from 100% empty to having hair will all but give it away anyway so caring what people think is going to be out the window.
The money is the hardest part. That and finding someone you trust. I really liked my Doctor, still do. I keep in contact here and there for information and also told him I would be more than happy to act as a liaison for those on the fence (he asked id I would) but so far no one has ever called.
I would say I probably had one of the worst possible experiences my first go around, yup had TWO, but the second was a repair procedure. Even with all that I would 110% do it again.
You can find the money, save up a grand, then finance the rest. Go get a part time job at a home depot to pay the bill if you have to. Desperation is motivation.
I recently saw pics of my head shaved and how far back my peaks had gotten and that ugly bridge formation and Ill tell you what, I have zero regrets.

The one thing that SHOULD be in that list is procedure addiction. Just like tattoos with people, youll find yourself wanting more and more. The possibilities of 100% correction are so alluring you could drive yourself broke in the endeavor.

we should all brainstorm a list of excuses that can be used to legitimately take off 3 months from work. I'll start:
  • Cancer - i have cancer and need to have it removed; this actually happened to me and it would have worked for sure, however, if you get on the disability leave (its a US thing) you would have to show diagnosis i believe.
  • Car accident - again, would probably work but if you plan on going on disability for the duration then you would probably get caught
  • Care for family member - uncle Robert had a stroke and he needs round the clock care; his insurance won't cover nursing so I have to do it until he can be back on insurance, which may take up to 3 months...
  • Broken hand - i broke my hand so i can write and or type until it heals, which can take up to 3 months
  • Overseas family - i have to go overseas to take care of family business, etc and that requires me to be on site for up to 3 months
  • Dick surgery - i'm having dick enlargement/reduction surgery and the healing process is up to 3 months; i include this one for @sunchyme1 who likes dick related things

- how about just cast your leg and tell people you broke it. Hide in your room all day and watch movies. This was basically my life when I broke my leg. haha or... Dante and I can INTENTIONALLY break your legs.

Here's my suggestion, already applied and WhitePolarBear approved:

Don't hide like a scared little b**ch.

If people asks what's up, you can either tell them: "I had surgery." and expend if you want.

Or you can just say "I'm not comfortable discussing this." You have a right to privacy and if people don't like it, they can suck your dick @buckthorn .

All it costed me was two cute girlfriends who left me because they thought it was so weird and I was so insecure because of my boldness (one of them was Polish and that's how she spelled it).

Looking back, I did myself a favor, the two girls were selfish über-feminists who would only talk about their great career and how their exes were abusive assholes and how most men are surely like that.

Sticking to the truth has some benefits and some downsides (less sex for Bear).

Anyway, this is my strategy, let me know what you think.

People who are negative about hair transplants after seeing modern results (considering most seem to think we are still in the plug era) are just pure scum. When I'm asked what the redness is I tell them I got a hair transplant and when they ask why (if they're a male as they tend to be the most negative) I tell them because I want to continue to root pussy when I feel like it, still root teenagers and look 22 rather than 35. Simple as that.

How much do you guys think I stand to gain/lose from a hair transplant at my current state? (pics from today):

Too much to risk for me to head to Turkey for a dense packing NW1 restoration?

Lol at doctors telling fair Caucasians the red/pink only lasts a few weeks- max a month bro! Seems to be the latest trend.

RIGHT. it takes me six months before my skin is flush with the surrounding areas. I still have this stupid pink tinge that lingers around at 5 half months.

Get ready to stockpile on foundation and cover up. Went through two supplies during my post cope phase.

Either the temple areas are sealed shut, or you look like a cuck. You have much to gain. Hit it with 3500 grafts, no mercy.

3500?

He barely would need 2000 at the front to fill in temples and reinforce frontal third

No way in hell with fine blonde hair. The frontal band alone would take 2000, reinforcing of the remaining forelock another 500 and he could easily stand to drop the hairline half a centimetre too.

3000 would be a likely quote from any Turk.

Had Rahal, Feriduni, and Konior quote me at less than 2000 when the recession was much deeper

Didn't consult with any Turkish surgeons though

Having the balls to get a hair transplant? Please, remaining bald requires more balls. Anyway, my reason for not having a transplant is only because of poor donor (diffuse hair loss)

Everyone who has done so and gotten that hair transplant, they don't seem to elaborate on how the transition period went. It all sounds so easy, and maybe it is.

I had a transplant in February this year. I had all the usual fears and doubts. It's not a small thing to undertake.

I work from home so I didn't have the problem of explaning to an office. It took a good 4 to 5 weeks before I looked "normal" again. That 4 to 5 week gap is the problem. Your recipient area looks sun burnt for about that amount of time - so even when the grafts fall out, you're left with the weird straight-line sun-tan mark. I just wore a cap and got on with it. Of course, in the first week or so, you look f*****g weird - you definitely need to take one to two weeks off work if you do work as an employee.

Yes, western prices can be quite high, especially if you're going to the best.

After a lot of research, I think Dr. Erdogan or Dr. ********* would be the best option for posters in Europe. They take up to 3 EUR / 3.5 USD pr. graft, and travel + stay is affordable. That's 3 times cheaper than many western and local hair transplants. Coughing up $20k is out of the question for most guys...but $8k isn't that unrealistic. Hell, if you only need 1000-1500 grafts, you could get away with only $5k-$6k.

That's as good as it ever will be, with the potential results you're getting. I regret not going to them years ago, while they were still charging peanuts.

I had my transplant done in Thailand - 2000 grafts for approx $5000. Very good job.

I really think people need the first two weeks off work no matter what. You need it because your face will be swollen, or if you wear a headband, the top of your head will be extremely misshapen - never mind you have scabs that need to dry up and fall out. Once the scabs are out, the only issue is the "sunburn". It's not that bad - but it is noticeable.

They'll probably be confused as to where the f*** to put it.

"You want hair on your forehead man?"

Sorry I actually take this back @kj6723 - I saw your post while on my phone in public and for some reason it looked like there was no temple recession.

If you're as young as mid-20's then yes the frontal part is being attacked. Island formation incoming.

Is a hair transplant absolutely imperative right now? I don't believe so, but if you've already milked the big 3 for all it's worth over the last few/handful of years, you might only have a few years until you're an official "bald guy". So definitely within 5 years you'll need a hair transplant.
