you think diet is responsible for baldness? even a little?

i had my hormones tested, totally normal according to the Doctor.

and about girls going "ewww" @Guzam u just reminded me of a shitty event in high school. balding got a lot worse halfway through senior year so i shaved it down. i remember the first day i went to school with the new cut this girl was just f*****g staring at me for like minutes. not in a "omg im wet " way but in a "damn wtf is wrong with this guy" way. and it was this cute girl that i had been scoping lol

f*****g DEPRESSING AND HUMILIATING

this is why i f*****g block out my f*****g memories of going bald in high school. jesus christ i still feel like it wasnt even real. dat dissociation

If there's a nutrient deficiency (unlikely) or a thyroid problem then that can accelerate hair loss. It's worth checking.

Whether general dietary tips might help is very difficult to tell given the absence of data and theory. I have ideas, but no proof, so I won't share them here. It would be rude to speculate here.

Man honestly, that finasteride is your only weapon right now is beyond me

You're at the point where you need to be making Hail Mary moves

Aggressive regimen or transplant immediately

Sucks man. All I can do right now is adding minoxidil. I have no money of my own because I'll start working in two years at best after (and if) I a get master's because that's how it works here. Sad. I'm already becoming religious because of hair loss indeed.

@Exodus2011 getting hair loss this young produces extremely traumatic events. I feel you man because I've had times like you when I really would rather have died just to stop the pain and the shame I felt.

@David_MPN blood and hormones are ok, had to get them tested before starting finasteride in September 2016. Just shitty, shitty genetics.

Sorry for the thread jack mate but i have a question, would an overactive thyroid accelerate hairloss? 2 out of 3 of my sisters suffer from it and ive never related it to hair loss until i saw your post. The only reason i ask is because my 2 uncles who i can relate my hair loss to pretty much have the same hairline as me (nw2) at the ages 43 and 50 (im 23).

I've always had trouble assessing my situation. Month 6 of finasteride has ended and significant results are not showing yet. Here is an analysis of my situation.

I am 21 yo, currently self assessed NW3v diffusing on top, ultimate fate is like my father: NW6 by late twenties.

Does anyone here have (or had) a similar pattern? If yes, how do did you manage treatment and haircuts?
Hair is purposely messed up in the pic.

Thank you.
Similar pattern here although it is much slower for me I started minoxidil 2 years ago and managed to keep a salvaged Nw1,5 diffuse. Now with finasteride I think I will be cured completely.

Yes, thyroid issues can accelerate hair loss worth getting checked.

honestly bro , i am less worried than the other members . First thing ; 6 month of finasteride is nothing in term of result . ( but it sure that you are not a great responder to the medication )
Second thing ; you have started propecia too late .
BUT , add minoxidil for 6 month , to thicken those areas .
Then add dutasteride if you have no sides and i think you could have great result .
If i were you i would use duta minoxidil . And if you don't get gyno you are ok for 10 years

If this was a lookism thread they would say to f*** it and wear wig. But I think with dutasteride you can have acceptable result.

@JohnsonDDG @Dench57 @Xander94 @pjhair
Thanks for the positive feedback boys. It works but it kind of stopped working and got too thin on the front some months before I got on finasteride, which is when I had a true breakdown. This hairstyle worked great during my late teenage years and it prevented me to notice the passage from NW1 to NW2 and then to thinning NW2.5. I truly noticed hair loss at NW3 stage at 19. Finasteride made the hairstyle better but the situation is still kind of desperate if you mess up and inspect my hair like in the analysis pic. I'm looking forward to try titanium spikes dermaroller (0.5-0.75) with minoxidil. Did any of you try it?

@kj6723
No concealer nor spray. I want to wear my 'natural' hair without using gimmicks because I want to assess my real situation during the day. Also everytime I see someone using concealer I quickly notice it. Concealers are quite noticeable.

I used concealers but only a small amount around the temples - it does blend well if you have dark hair.

If you go down the bro road please post before / after pics in this thread so that if we are similar I can do it too.

I'm realy afraid of shaving /buzzing, did a buzz once and I lived like @Dante92 for three months straight: people mocked me and girls 'ewww'-ed me.

I was going to suggest trying a buzzed look but dude...... that experience has gotta be hard on your soul.
Do you have a decent face shape? You could look into shaving...... its very very different from buzzing. Trust me, I've done both
