You haven't looked into Dr Zarev clearly. Some of the patients he worked on, for whatever reason would only get half the grafts being extracted with other surgeons, so the result wouldn't be as good for Norwood 6-7. Other drs themselves said they wouldn't have done what he did - i mean they said it themselves lol. He's a machine and does the whole transplant pretty much himself and aesthetic placement. Like I said, as a Norwood 6-7 I wouldn't look elsewhere as in some cases people end up losing worse than before with pube like hair.

Why are you getting caught up in wig or system? It's just a name and again it indicates you're on the spectrum which you once mentioned, too many signs. If someone calls my transplant, plugs, well yeah it is, just a modern version, concentrate on results. Use your "system" in your situation as I feel once people get used to that density, it's hard to look back and a transplant won't give it in your situation. The picture you put up once with the system, I actually have that density and more especially if I style it like that. Financially I would assume transplants are cheaper long run for most people, NW3s pay 2k in Turkey but again Norwood 6-7 and elite doctors, the cost could be approaching 50k euros, 4 euros per graft and 10k grafts, factor in hotels and travel fares with each visit etc.

Did you start losing hair in the crown before the hairline? You might be one of the guys that loses it more back to front and in diffuse manner, good news is treatment can sometimes give a full recovery, bad news is that these guys usually have a more aggressive pattern which is difficult to control long term on conventional treatments at least.
the opposite, when i started treatments, the crown was slightly thinning, but barely noticeable, hairline was already thinking for a while...
now i need toppik...

yeah, i dont know if any treatment works... im on dutasteride and 10mg oral min... all for nothing apparently...

I'm really surprised to hear that and sorry about it...could it be that you started treatment once there was a lot of diffuse thinning even if it wasn't apparent to the naked eye? It's hard to reverse when miniaturisation sets in. You may just be a non responder or maybe there is little change in your hair, just you feel there is due to your perception. I met my mum last week and she said to me that I give too much credit to finasteride and not hair genetics, that if finasteride was so good no one would be appearing to bald. I answered it's a little more complicated than that and I think I would definitely be quite bald without the medication, so I do give credit to it for sure, I seem to be a great responder to it. If I got on the medication at 20, I would probably never had needed a transplant either for the front, or maybe I would have as that area is super sensitive for me.

Have you added in needling? Definitely helps "reset" things in the scalp, it was growing my juvenile hairline back and if I added minoxidil (never would), I think it may have a little, of course I stopped needling as didn't want to undo my transplant results. I was only trying needling as an experiment and this was years ago but it shows it can definitely help. You should needle all over, very powerful with oral minoxidil.

i did try needling for half a year or something, also didnt do much... might try again, though...

i started treatment once i saw the crown thinning, the usual minoxidil and finasteride routine... that also regrew a lot first, especially on the hairline... had to switch minoxidil brands, though and after that, not much improvement so i decided to go dutasteride and oral min (doing that for a year now)... oral also gave me some regrowth on the hairline, but somehow nothing (or not much? or not yet)) on the crown...

im not even waiting for some miracle and dont expect to ever have really good hair ever again, i just want the crown to fill in again...

well i try needling again...
would get a transplant, if i could afford it, so maybe one day in the future i will...

It's good you are realistic about it all and definitely treatments with a transplant will give you good enough coverage, especially as you still have a lot of hair to work with. I think it will be fine, passable density is enough for a man. Maybe you can needle once a month but very hard and 2mm, can help break up calcification in stubborn areas and aid the minoxidil.

yeah there is something to work with and im also sure donor area is quite okay (rest is quite thick)...
as i said, i just want to get rid of the thinning crown, at the moment a few sprinkles of toppik and its okay... worst case i could even live with that...
transplant is just a money issue... but ill see about that later...
