How many hairs did YOU shed this morning?

I'm getting so sick of seeing my thickest, juicy terminal hairs falling out every shower...

I admit, I only saw 10 free-floating hairs above my eyebrows this morning, but it was enough to ruin my day.

I'm trying not to go into an irrational tangent about how God hates me, but it's just so hard to cope with this...

How many hairs did you guys lose today, and what is your Norwood/regimen?

I have shed about 20-30 TERMINAL hairs today (and for most of the week) and I attribute this to finasteride which I started abt 2 months back.

I am diffuse thinner

hmm,i dunno......15/20 ? i dont count,but they are thick and thin and short and long and alsorts,been on big three for one year,slowly getting better..........seeing em fall out doesnt bother me,its the fact they grow back that helps me keep the faith :hairy:

Weird. I hardly ever see any hair that I might have shed. I mean I dont find them from my pillow or shower or sink or anywhere. They just vanish.

I know that I did shed a ton of hair a couple of months after I started finasteride, but not even then did I notice hardly any shed hairs.

How many hairs did you guys lose today, and what is your Norwood/regimen

Answer: Dont know, regimen as mentioned below, maybe NW2,5.

Ran my hand through my hair this morning a few times. Counted 48 hairs in the sink. I haven't even showereed yet. and that's where the real damage happens.

Tooooooo many...All i do all day is run my fingers through my hair to see how many i get. Most are thick. From front, top, back sides...u name it. Im only 3 weeks into .5mg finasteride and shedding started from day 3. So hard not to just give up. At this rate, i will slick bald in a few months.

Why do you take so few? 1 mg is the minimum for finasteride...

After only 3 weeks? I would take 1 mg for a longer time, the nipple problems could disappear. But it is your decision.

I don't know how many I lost, but I saw about 40, so I figure I lost maybe 80.

I am maybe an NW3 with crown thinning.

Hey Jacky,

I count the hairs that I see on my face after a shower, and when I comb my hair.

During the shower, I don't look at the many hairs in my hands when shampooing or washing my face. There are many.

I also don't look at the hairs in my hands when I apply my Rogaine.


In the course of a day, I visually notice (not intentionally) lots of hair.

So then i am losing not much! After drying my hair i shake my towel in the bath tub. There are not more than 10 hairs. While combing there fall 1-3 hairs in the basin.
Do you have hair (accumulating) in your comb? I don't have! Before i started finasteride 2001 there have been many hairs accumulated in my comb and i had to clean it regularly.

I'm probably Norwood 1.5 or 2 with diffuse thinning concentrated at my crown. My hairloss isn't yet noticable to the average punter. However, if I rub my hands through my hair vigorously (about 20 times) over a sheet of paper about 40 hairs fall out (even after washing my hair). I'd estimate I lose about 300-400 hairs a day. At this rate I'll be a chrome dome in 6 months. :cry:

I think some of you guys are seriously under-estimating how many hairs you lose. If you're losing 15-20 a day there's absolutely no way you could be going bald.

For a thrill...Try putting a thin, white piece of cloth over your shower drain and wash your hair. Let the water drain out, remove the cloth and inspect. A sure fire way to ruin your day.

That's not true. Plenty of people lose 100 a day and are not balding at all. most people don't even notice half the hairs that they shed. if you're noticing 15-20 and are losing 40-50, then you definitely can.

for the first time in week I only shed 2 hairs in shower and another couple while combing.To good to be true
