How true is the statement that washing your hair every day makes it greasier/produce more sebum?

If that's true then, how can I stretch washes? I can't skip a hair wash day because if I do, I'll get pimples on my scalp. I do feel that my scalp is dry/tight sometimes, but I have no other choice than washing it

Washing my hair everyday makes it dry as sh*t, I never get why people say that. I think the most healthy way is washing it every other day or not at all, was hair ever meant to be washed?

Makes your hair dry or your scalp?

My scalp isn't dry, I don't get dandruff or anything but my hair looks pretty dry and damaged from washing it so much, I use hair products to style my hair, washing the sh*t out of my hair everyday isn't good for it.

No, and even if it did, it wouldn’t matter. Your body has a set amount of sebum it’s going to release to get your hair to equilibrium. Washing less frequently would mean less oil is required to reach that state, but you’ll still reach it because you’re washing your hair less. Your body and your hair are meant to adapt and that’s what it will do.

Bryan the legend has destroyed this theory many times.

Just do a search with Bryan and sebum.

Keep using things like Nizoral, it is a good antiandrogen to have on hand and is clinically proven to reduce hair fall.
This thread comes from a time where my only worry was to know whether my friends would pick up Rugal or Kula in KOF against me, because if they did I would be fucked. Such simple times those days

Aw. I would really, really, love to stretch washes. Washing it everyday is a pain in the ***. Not to mention spending on shampoos every month

Its not washing you hair that is causing this, its what you are washing it with.

I literally tried every shampoo so far and it continues to get greasy after one day. I can stretch if I want, but I'm sure I'll get zits all over my scalp

Have you tried to stop using Mainstream commercial shampoos? maybe try to use something without any chemicals like an Eco hippy would use.

I even tried paul mitchell bro. Nothing helps. Bought a shampoo with no name in it, never seen that sh*t before, and didn't help either

Im mean something without Sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) in the ingredients, if it has SLS in it your scalp will often become more greasy, because its is way to harsh.
