6 months ago I did not care about my hair loss. I was concious about it but did not care much. Then i started caring about it and got on Minoxidil and bought Proscar ( even though I am still not using it ). I have been balding since I was 18 and in 8 years I went from NW0 to NW2.

Then I started Minoxidil 5 months ago. Things went downhill from then. I have been continuously shedding 100+ hairs everyday since the past 3 months. Hairline has receded and density has gone down tremendously. I thought it was minoxidil shed but sheds dont last 3 months. My MBP has just become tremendously aggressive and I will hold minoxidil responsible.

I cant think clearly. Who can if all day starting from the morning shower you see hair all over. I am alone, distressed and depressed. I am scared one night when I am really depressed I might jump off my window or just slit my hands...

Why me :(

Maybe you should blame your refusal to use proscar instead. In the meantime, maybe you should just shave your head so it can't bug you so much, and after being on the proscar and continuing the minoxidil for several months let it grow out again. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised, and even if you're not, you'll be used to being bald and will have that as an option.

eh, no use crying over spilt milk, the guy's already talking about offing himself :p But, he should definitely start taking his darn proscar already.

I didnt want to bring this subject up but minoxidil accelarated my hairloss aswell and I've heard many more say the same on other forums. But usualy when you mention this you get loads of grief off minoxidil users.

Aw man i'd give you a big hug if you were here right now. I know i've had days where I was feeling so bad, I just needed a hug from someone. :x

I hope you have a better day tomorrow. And if you are a NW2 don't worry too much. I'm a NW3-ish (its debateable) and I had an alright day. It depends on your mood and sometimes for me- the wind speed outside.

But not anymore because a few hours ago I tried my new NANOGEN *does a dance* I went outside and ran down the street without a care for my hair in the wind for the first time in a long time and it was fun. God bless Nanogen.

Same for me, I think that for many people the irritation is just too counterproductive. I got real bad irritation even from PPG free minoxidil so I think it was the actual minoxidil I was allergic to.

I wonder if the new foam is suitable for people who had serious irritation from regular minoxidil.

You need a fun hobby, or better yet a girlfriend. Getting your knob slobbed a couple times a week will cheer you up for sure.

minoxidil is only for regrowth and only helps maintain what you've grown from it.

finasteride should help maintain what you have and maybe even regrow some. this is probably your best bet. don't worry about the sides so much. i had a few sides for about 2 weeks including limp penis but after 2 weeks it was back to normal.

also, hang in there man, your not the only one going through this so your not alone. you have a big support group here.

GOD BLESS

according to the study, minoxidil grows hair on about 60% of men. If you don't see any regrowth by 48 weeks, or maybe 4 months, I forget which, they say you should get off it. They don't say that for propecia, though. For propecia, they just say that 83% at least maintain hair counts at the one year mark.

8 years is about how long I've been loosing, though I started high. I got on propecia about 2-3 years ago, closer to 2, at a progressed NW3, and slight diffuse thinning on top.

I thought about balcony jumping too. But you got to look at the fun you might have in the future, with HM, or just doing non-sexual stuff like hiking, and you will see that it is better than being dead, even if it is a lot less fun than having an attractive girlfriend who wants you. I thought about this back when I was affraid my top would thin before my front grafts grew out, and that I'd never have good looking hair all at once. Now I think my hair is going to keep getting denser, at least for a while, though I don't like these topicals messing my hair up for an hour.

topicals are teh suck.

he should be on avodart. maybe consider some oral spironolactone as well, to avoid the topical hassle.

I thought everyone agreed that oral spironolactone was potentially very dangerous and shouldn't be done lightly? Or were you being ironic. :p I know everyone flipped out when that Socks guy said he was on it.

Please, please, topic creator, don't take this part of the post too seriously. Very few bald guys become social pariahs and can't get laid, and if they do, it's generally due to a huge lack of self esteem more than a huge lack of hair. Losing your hair and not getting hm doesn't mean the only things you have to look forward to are non-sexual. :p

Hang in there dude...there're a lot of people in here a lot worse off than you. Being depressed about your hair is a decision. It's difficult, but you can choose not to be bothered about it and live a fantastic life...millions of people do!

it is for people who have regrown what they will with propecia, but still need more volume, or know before propecia peaks that they will need help anyway, since they are NW4 or something.

8 years and you're only NW2. geez if you got on propecia earlier you'd probably still have a full head of hair.
