I hate topicals too, but 2% minoxidil grows more hair than 2.5mg/dutasteride does in 6 months. And you can't take internal androgen receptor blockers.

So if you got on at NW1 or a little after, dutasteride may be all you need, with a good shampoo regimen. But for those of use who need to regrow a lot, the topicals are necessary.

socks is taking 200 mg a day of oral spironolactone. doesn't that act as an internal androgen receptor blocker?

no, I think it reduces testosterone production in the adrenal glands. at that dose it might be an adrogen receptor blocker. Flutamide is another AR blocker. AR blockers have the potential to be much stronger than dutasteride since they block testosterone too. No estrogen problems. Just lack of testosterone effect problems.
