The great thing about that haircut is that it takes longer to grow so you don't have to go the barber next month if you touch up the top yourself.

I use this style myself - I trim the sides myself every week and get the hairdresser to do the top every two months

I think it would be easier to let the barber use the clippers and then you at home with the scissors trim it, less mess to clean up afterwards. I was never able to find clippers that didn't die or lose the power a few months later.

I only have a few things that I still like but most things lose value as time goes, imagine really wanting a LEGO set as a kid and not being able to find it, now as an adult I can find it but it would never be the same as experiencing it at a young age. Some things have to be experienced at the right time, once that train is gone, it's gone forever. Some people try and compensate for the missed opportunities in life at an older age like how you often see early 40's at the clubs but it will never be the same, this is why getting back our hair sooner than later is extremely important, we're missing out on life experiences that won't wait for us.

There are too many facts/situations we can't know. We're just speculating here. Usually, when you get old, you start to see things differently, you tend to become nostalgic, emotional, afraid to be alone (and afraid of death in general). They probably got married out of a misplaced sense of nostalgia and loneliness.

Here is an older man who clearly could have gotten a woman 20 to 30 years younger--much more opportunity than average good looking old man.
