EVEN if the sickly diffused thinning covered in hair fibers frames my face, it does NOT look ok. If messed up at all, I simply look bald as f***. I have the other aspects of my life coming to order. I work out intensely, take care of my skin, teeth, etc... have been taking care of my business well. I just don't know what to do about this.

I am not trying to "salvage" it. My sides and back are a 1.5 and my top is a 3-4. I would NEVER grow it out.

If she's seen pictures of you then she's probably already identified that you're losing your hair and ultimately doesn't care. Be yourself mate and be sure to tell her how you feel! Honestly mate, my advice is to simply call it a day for now. Shaving it doesn't mean you have to give up completely, think of it as a way of allowing yourself to focus on bigger and better things. Do you take finasteride? Either way, shaving it will almost definitely make you feel more confident on the day of your date with this girl. You won't be paranoid about her looking, talking about your hair. You seem like a confident guy anyway so I'm sure you'll do just fine bro. What's your current Norwood now? Maybe shave it at a low gaurd. My friend is badly balding but he gets a 0.5 on the back and sides, fades it upwards into his 2/3 on top and it looks smart.
