Just have BDD, that's all.

Enjoy the twink hair while you can.

if you're paranoid now, imagine when it starts to go. :D

I laughed a LOT at twink hair.

Hair parting will widen with diffuse hair loss in men too.

To the OP: doesn't look like you have any real hair loss to me. You're the best judge though.... if you are certain there is a difference in thickness, then maybe there is. For now, just eat well and look after yourself = )

You seem very knowledgeable bro, based on some of your other posts I read. You would say no hair loss? (I googled twink hair btw :/)

I would say at this given moment, you do not have any hair loss. All though this can change.

All the hair looks terminal, however you should closely monitor your hair through out the months to see if anything changes. Recession is not a clear indicator of the gene, rather you want to focus on the entire scalps hair quality. A full head of hair will have uniform growth, and generally look the same everywhere.

I wouldn't stress, but just have a keen eye on miniaturization.

If you are that paranoid, then seeing a transplant surgeon to get one of those magnifying glasses so they can do a scalp check on your hair is your best bet.

And one more question. If you have male pattern baldness and were destined to lose hair in maybe 10 years, can accutane speed it up? I'm reading online that accutane doesn't CAUSE male pattern baldness but can speed it up due to f*****g with your hair cycle through Telogen Effluvium. What are ur thoughts, the internet is tough to trust

Specifically ask him to look at it with a dermascope(think that is the name its a tool they use to microscopically look at scalp for minituruaziotn.)

Literally say "do you mind using a dermascope to check my hair for early signs of miniaturization"

I know on the womens forums and on a Facebook alopecia page i hear a lot bad about acutane and hair.

Its like birth control pills for women--BCP don't make women lose hair UNLESS they are genetically predisposed to losing hair.

I feel like when it comes to a drug like that ur ALWAYS gonna here a lot of bad sh*t online, because people don't normally post unless something bad happens. Like I would never think to make an accutane posts unless something happend, so I try to take those posts with a grain of salt. But thank u I will def ask my Derm for that, appreciate it

No you are misunderstanding

if you have androgenic alopecia

and you take a medication that can possibly cause hair loss.

You are more likely to get that side effect than not

Its like i am ferritin anemic...Most women who are anemic do not get hair loss--BUT if you have androgenic alopecia genetically and you have anemia--the anemia will esaserbate the hair lose or make it happen sooner.

Same with Birth control pills...if you are genetically predisposed to hair loss you are more likely going to get the side effect of hair loss then someone who is not genetically predisposed.

But honestly do what you want.

No I totally get what your saying, but I have no family history of baldness on either side, so I don't wanna avoid a helpful medication simply because I'm paranoid

OH

Thats weird---none of your grandparents have Androgenetic Alopecia in their youth?

You better make sure its not autoimmune--that can definitely be triggered by medication.

So can Telogen Effluvium..which is just chronic shedding that can be triggered by medication as well.

Do what you want just 'know' possibilities.

Talk to the Dr see what he says.

No my mothers father is 85 with Alzheimer's and is a norwoord 2 with full density, my father has a full head at 60, and his dad always had hair, but he died at 95 with very thin hair but I don't think anyone will have hair if they make it to 95. So IF I ever get genetic hair loss, it came out of nowehere. My moms brother is 60 and has a lot of thinning, but he has mental illness and is on a lot of meds that can cause hair loss

I saw the derm and I swear he did nothing. I competelt forgot to ask him to check for miniaturization. But basically, he looked at my hair and basically said every man gets a degree of hair loss as the age, it could have thinned a little or it could have always been this way, yada yada. It was very pointless honestly. Is checking for miniaturization the only way to diagnose male pattern baldness?

For myself what i first first noticed was I was able to very easily 'tug' short hairs that were growing out of my scalp and they had white bulbs. my hair is very long i am talking the short hairs that stick up basically new hairs growing...at about an inch long on me (until recently I'm on medications now) those hair came out easily and the white 'bulb' at the root when they come out mean they are at end of life cycle

SO i had what they call hairs that were short cycling.

Also i had tremendous amount of shedding for several years

I have Androgenetic Alopecia but i also have ferritin anemia so i am not sure if the short cycling hairs was Androgenetic Alopecia or the anemia.

I was not confirmed with Androgenetic Alopecia until a biopsy was done. Actually two biopsies were taken and compared.

I hope that helps

You can do some 'tug' testing see if it comes out..you just gently tug don't pull

also check bulbs of shed hairs if they are white.

I can pull a normal amount of long hairs out with hair pull test, 0-2. But the shorter hairs that are growing out of my hairline (same thickness/diameter as regular hair) actually is like super in my head. I tried pulling one out and it literally hurt so bad
