Is Hair Loss A Secondary Issue To Posters Here?

No. Without hair loss my life would be perfect. I would be able to talk to and slay nothing but 10's. I would get so many 10's, that I would get bored of them and start dating 9's just to mix things up. Dating, social, professional life, all would be just perfect.

But you would still need a TIME MACHINE, then everything would be perfect.

That's the problem, men our age have become a HERPES VIRUS. We're no INSIGNIFICANT, and we only cause
problems in society.

Younger men are like the f*****g plague. They just infect other people with their negativity.

Now, we're GRUMPY OLD MEN (or I AM).

Sorry @Roberty_72. Didn't mean to leave you out. You're so f*****g old, I forgot about you.

If it helps, I'm older. NOT BY MUCH OF COURSE... Can't reveal my age here. Let's just say, I won't be changing my name to @rclark_69 very soon....

Sorry Roberto_72, I had to put your picture here... from your facebook page!

Here is a picture of balding skin.
The idea reported in this thread was not very popular in the end was it?

Where do you get your 1% Progesterone from?

You've just become my new HAIRLOSSTALK FRIEND! Please ignore my previous post.:D

I think that some of you guys are completely misjudging what the OP is saying...OP is making a deep philosophical point that can potentially alter our life trajectories and make this forum more organic, enriching, and harmonious.

I am with you, OP. If I could have, I would have liked your post.
thats very true. people on the bottom half of the attractiveness distribution become incel when they go bald. seems like a lot of people here are like that

also it sucks to lose your looks in general though, so its not just people with preexisting aesthetic issues that are destroyed by it

No one would ask a person with horrible acne or horrible psoriasis or even a disfigurement like burnt skin or a bearded lady if those things were "secondary." People feel the need INSTINCTIVELY to cover their baldness - with hats, systems, wigs, transplants, tattoos, pigments. It's not like being dissatisfied with your nose shape or wishing you were a bit taller. There's nothing secondary about it. Obviously there are other problems in life but not being comfortable in your skin on that instinctual, cellular level, takes precedence, yes.

This was well said.

I just got back from visiting the other hair loss forum and reading some of my old posts(2013). I can't believe I actually posted this sh*t:

"Not sure how bad your face looks, but you should start to focus on what you can change. Not all of us were given the gift of great looks or hair. But there is no reason to let the rest of yourself go. Work on your body and your confidence will improve. The improvement in confidence alone will make you look better."

This is trigger material for sure.
Forgive my ignorance but what exactly is your world view regarding looks now?

I feel that after reading a lot of threads here (esp. suicide related), I am beginning to wonder if we all need someone to talk to - but because this forum somehow limits us to discuss impact of hair loss, hair loss becomes the main culprit - I am not saying baldness is not the issue but I am saying that it is one of the multiple issues we are all facing in our lives.

Some of us feel that we are ugly. Some of us feel that we lack confidence in social/dating situations. In such a case, what is really the primary issue.

I feel like that most of us need a support system that we do not have outside this forum and this impact forum is more than just hair loss - it is a place where we can shed our inhibitions and share our insecurities without being mocked at.

Does everything need a point?

I think that my experience is perhaps unique among posters here in the sense that I realized and experienced how hair and lack thereof can dramatically affect the first impression you make on people beforehand.

I often share the story of how being a long-haired hippy lookin' motherfucker was a huge drawback in hindsight. Until I was about 19 or 20, I wouldn't cut my hair or change anything about me because I valued my sense of "style" and individuality (ironically conforming to the metalhead hivemind) and wouldn't trade it for anything.

But then, when a bunch of things went to sh*t at once in my life, it made me realize I didn't have the kinds of people and job opportunities that I wanted (getting a job was impossible unless I wanted to flip burgers) in life. Immediately after I cut my hair and gave it a cool style, started wearing better clothes, etc. I suddenly got job offers, didn't get asked if I sold weed, got dates, etc. It was a world of f*****g difference and I didn't want to trade it at all.

The whole experience showed me how important appearance is and how big of a role hair plays in it and that embracing "individuality" is rarely worth it. Going bald was always one of my worst fears; I know how society treats bald men (especially young ones) and I just don't want to be bald. So I will take all the currently approved treatments I can to fight until something better comes along.

That being said, a lot of posters here do have bigger problems and use their hairloss as a means of shifting the blame.

Sure. Like ugliness, for example. But for good-looking fullheads, it's just a sad excuse to complain, when lifting and a tan would solve everything.

I disagree that lifting and tanning is going to help everyone who is otherwise a good-looking fullhead.

Sure, it might be better than being a skinny or fat, pale full-head, but still.

Personally, I couldn't give a sh*t how ripped I am or tanned when I look at the mirror and hate being bald. I'd rather be skinny and pale with a full head of hair.

If I had my hair, my life would be exactly what it was before hair loss. It would be good enough.

People almost talk about baldness as if it's something we were born with. Nope, happened to us. We know how our life was with hair and how it changed after the fact.

Here is another one. Would it be worse to go bald (reality), or would it be worse to have been born bald.

Losing something hurts more than not having it, to begin with. I never had a million, but if I had it and lost it, it would hurt. Not having it, never really hurt.

For me my first issue is curing my psychosis, anxiety, panic attacks, substance abuse disorder: alcohol, depression. Which i had before hairloss this that just made sh*t worse for me.

Second issue is hairloss. Im at the stage where im thinking of just keeping my head shaved, accept it and try to get some muscles or wait and hope they have a cure in the near future. i cant take any more medication

I feel as if hairloss is my main problem , but that amplifies other problems like OCD and anxiety.

Whenever I try to mention something about it to someone else , or therapy I get the usual "the problem is in your head". Yea sorry , maybe I've been reading this forum to much but I don't see how I could be ok with it.

My goal in life is to look normal , unforatnley I was born short , with a baby face not only that I started losing my hair at 16. Wtf is this situation - I do not know.

I would love to be an average looking man able to focus on other areas. The funny part is lots of men with average genes just don't care. They are over weight and don't dress with any style. I would love to trade genes with them but sadly I'm stuck with the sh*t genes forever
