Is this the level of blood what i should strive for after 1.5mm microneedling and do i wash my head with water after or leave the blood to dry?!

Basically the title this is what my head looks after carefully microneedling at 1.5mm deep or even at 1.4mm. Dont understand how poeple say they do 1.5 with 0 blood, when i read that i just think they are dragging the device on their scalp microscarring their skin and removing all vellus hairs that could grow potentially.

Besides that i havent found a clear answer to whether i should wash off the blood afterwards or not, meaning is it safe to do so when hardwater could potentially have bacteria, microbes and minerals which would be bad for the open wounded skin and eventually lead to an infection and a decreased propabillity of achieving the most optimal environment for regrowth as possible.

Ive also hears people use numbing creams but a little digging into that showed me that it can potentially not yield the same positive effect as far as inflammation and growth components that we are looking for if we use numbing creams. Also heard people wash their scalp with cold water or put icecubes on it before microneedling to redice the pain and blood during the procedure which again im not entirely sure is the most optimal yielding route for positive benefits of regrowth.

Do i leave the blood to dry on my scalp?

Do i remove and wash the scalp with hot, lukewarm or cold water?

Do i wash my scalp with cold or hot water before the procedure?

If you’ve read everything thankyou for your time.

Edit: mispelled “that” with “what” in title

I dermaroll once a week after washing hair with keto shampoo. I get about the same amount of blood and use a 1.5. I’m the same, not sure why people don’t get the blood. I never wash it after (my hair is still damp when I microneedle anyway, so just leave it to dry, and wash the following night. I have long hair though, so I can technically go out the next day without washing hair again. Don’t think it really matters though

That looks about right. I went past that level of blood a couple of times but I don't think that it hurts. 1.5mm is a good gauge. I am up to 2.5mm now and it actually causes less blood than the 1.5 mm did for me. I barely have to apply any pressure any longer and healing time is minimal compared to the shorter gauges. I am currently shooting to microneedle every seven days and I do copious massage the other six days. I do my entire scalp, balding and non-balding areas plus my face and neck and it works like a dream.

What I did afterwards to clean up was simply to apply minoxidil foam or liquid everywhere. Didn't it hurt? No, not really at all and the alcohol base should act like a disinfectant. Your hair looks pretty good. Keep an eye on the hairline but it is gradually sloped backwards which indicates less of a pattern likely to spread to the crown. Good job. I think the studies with microneedling have used up to 2.5mm gauges.

Weird thing i notices is even at 1.5mm on the machine i still think its not a true 1.5mm penetration and measured it with slowmotion cameras and its not it seems to me, even the dermaroller i have is not an actual 1.5mm penetration into the scalp with the needles unless i would guess you are really pushing it but even still it wouldnt be 1.5mm. I have seen doctors draw blood on the face with 0.5mm so hearing people say they dont draw blood at 1.5mm i just think they drag the thing and wreck every little ounce of small hair that could grow bigger one day

Thnx for your opinion, i think the reason why it hurts so much in my case is because i use 36needle cartridges and still waiting for the 12needles ones to arrive so i do it in a stampy way but as it seems the device is not powerful enough to penetrate all 36 needles and i have to stay on a certain spot for a second before i lift it up, i was thinking i shouldve gotten the 9 needle cartridges but if 12 does the trick then im good. I dont understand how 2.5mm causes less blood are you 100% certain you penetrate at 2.5mm? Get a ruler and see how long 2.5mm actually is and put it next to your cartridge for reference. At 2.5mm i would look like i just shot my scalp with a shotgun most likely ahhahah. And wow i do massages do, a thing called detumescense therapy if you want il tell you me exact routine, whats your routine like and how long doe it take you to do it? Have you seen improvements from your massages?

Il apply minoxidil a few hours later but i still dont know how to remove the blood, 24hours later its completely dry on the scalp and it takes a while to remove it under lukewarm water in the shower, im actually surprised not many people talk about this or have talked about it. My hair is nowhere near what it used to but thnx for your opinion you are being deceived by the shaved head. Hairline is almost non existent im at nw3 currently and receding.

Have you seen improvements from microneedlign as in actual regrowth and how long have you been doing it for? Sorry for the many questions i get excited when i talk to someone thats not stupid and at least has a level of knowledge to what their talking about. Waiting for your reply.

2mm needling performed by a dermatologist. Took around half an hour and it was quite painful

did they even put numbing cream?

i did 2.5mm a few times hardcore with no numbing cream. takes it to another experience.
No numbing cream at all I was practically in tears. It was fucked.

The most uncomfortable experiences of my life are as follows

1. 2mm microneedling
2. Laser eye correction
3. PRP with no anaesthetic

What device did you use or currently using for 2.5mm and how many needles on the cartridge?

What device did they use? So for half an hour there was constantly a device puncturing holes on your head? 1800 consecutive seconds of this or were there any breaks in between. Im guessing your head was quite bloody how did they remove the blood afterwards?

12 i think needles or 16

and dr pen
hmm are you flaking a lot a few days later? Do you use moisturizer to counteract this? I think the less needles the better as each individual needle gets more power from the machine and get penetrated deeper into the hard scalp skin

I think she used the latest dermapen

Yeah constantly punching into my head moved on when it hurt too much. I took a few 1-2 minute breaks too

Well, I only bled as much as the image shows. Not big bleeds just tiny bits of blood all over. After the needling I got PRP injected and also sprayed on my scalp. I was directed not to wash my hair or apply any topicals until 24 hours

i've used 1.5mm with really great results (see my story so far) and no bleeding at all. over that seems a bit excessive to me

If she wasnt holding the device on the same spot for at least 2 seconds i doubt she was going 2mm deep, try it at home, get your dermapen and hold it at the same spot at 1.5mm for a few seconds and see how much blood you draw, i would say she could be lightly scraping the skin if the device is not 100% delivering the same amount of energy through out each individual blow. I could be wrong because nobody has the same scalp but still 2mm and not drawing at least drops of blood does not make sense to me.

i used to do 1.5mm with no blood until i started doing it as a spot treatment, quickly realized that the needles were not going 1.5mm deep otherwise i would be drawing blood every single time, its not hard to think about it, hypothesize how many newtons of energy can a small motor deliver in 12 very small areas of contact in an extremely short amount of time to dig 1.5mm deep with all 12 needles. If your having success though that is literally all that matters so good for you man keep at it.

What? That's the complete opposite of what I said lol

I said constantly punching on my head ie the machine was on at all times and once it hurt too much or she felt it was enough she moved on to another spot. Also, you can see from my photo I did bleed quite a lot (just not sh*t loads) and the dried blood is visible.

Well in a week I got the 2mm needling to look forward to again. God help me

Misunderstanding then i guess i just bleed easier cause i can draw blood at less than 1mm. At 2mm i would droop blood but yeah from your pic i cant really tell how much blood was drawn it looks cleaned out and only the erythema is visible but im wrong and thnx for clarifying.

What kind of mesotherapy are you doing?
