Blackg, I edited my post so you can understand what I was trying to say. I think you misinterpreted what I meant. You don't think he deserves to be his former happy self?

I guess what I'm saying is; it's best to have realistic expectations, I think.
A balance between trying times and times of joy/relief is usually what most of of us class as a fulfilling life.

And on your other point; I don't think Dante was ever really that happy to begin with.... I may be wrong.
