Well to be honest
I think most users here are bad responders to finasteride, or suffer from sides more than the average.
Because if - as you suggest - it does work, most users should have forgotten about hair loss altogether.
For me, finasteride was never the solution. Every time I used it, for a year at a time, the crown kept on degrading. For me finasteride did not help to keep hair, let alone regrow it.

I knew your dad had you late in life, but I thought your mom was younger. If they're in decent health and don't have any bad hereditary illnesses that run in your family, I think the odds are they have more than 5-10 years left.

i hope so but my mom had a heart attack last year so we'll see. and dad is treating his high blood pressure. dads hypertension is probably from his obesity . and mom is very stressed out all the time and borderline diabetic

I'm sorry to hear about your mom and hope she'll find a way, as hard as I know it is, to manage her stress. Diabetes, if she ever does become a diabetic, can be managed. My mother's 84 and is doing fine with her diabetes. And your dad may even be able to get off his BP meds if he loses weight. My husband (not overweight) has been on two BP meds since his 40s (he's an oldcel at 62!), and all's well (knock wood). I think you help your mom with her cleaning jobs, and I'm sure she's glad she has you to lighten her load.
