That charismatic smile, the ignorantly blissful joy of never fearing judgement or rejection. Yes I did just feel bitter jealousy towards the balding rat. I'm not sure if this was the intention.

Also: "hello rato"- it's a long shot but probably more scientifically proven than biotin at least.

Great pic to use for your Tinder profile if you're bald.

lol...this rat was basically my profile pic for a while when i first joined. gooooood times. i am sincerely glad I have this brotherhood. it's helped me quite a bit. without it, I would have been consoled by the same f*cks who initially told me, "you don't have it that bad. at least you don't have it like this guy (insert a pic of a guy with alopecia areata)"

I really wonder how many men are kept off of facebook/social networking websites due to hair loss, myself included. That, or posting no new photos of themselves in years. It's much worse for young men though. I've seen older balding men with facebook profiles though. But they use it more as a vehicle for communicating with friends and relatives, rather than hooking up with women or garnering attention.

Do people actually use facebook to try and hook up? Has anyone had success with this? I thought it was a social no no, like you're creeping people.

Before hair loss, I've actually hooked up from facebook before. I mean, it isn't primarily a dating website but lots of social networking sites are so conducive to hooking up. When I was on there, I used to contact girls with similar interests and then request that they add me as a friend. I'd sometimes ask some of these women if they wanted to meet up in a casual environment, like going to see a popular tribute band. But one of my best relationships actually started through social networking. One of these girls that I messaged was just getting out of a long term relationship and she was really looking for companionship. And she just wanted to get out of her area. So we met for a very casual date closer to where I lived. And when I wasn't preoccupied with hair loss, I was really able to put myself out there and lay on the charm with women. Therefore, that first date turned into a makeout session and that turned into one of the most intense relationships of my life. It almost pains me to write all of this because if it wasn't for hair loss, I'd be on social networking now and having similar experiences.

F2005 thats perfectly possible on facebook. it really networks you so well with people you have things in common with, ofc you have to like the pages and join the groups that you are into first tho.

i met some really cool girls on there too but either they were far away or i figured they had a BF already or could get one easily in real life. i was afraid they might find me creepy trying to talk to them on facebook lol

its still great for balding guys tho, just be one of the many many people who dont have their pictures up haha. and they judge you on your interests and the content of your messages/postings since mostly wat it is.

I don't know, I really can't imagine creating a facebook profile for myself with no photo. And I am not sure if any woman would go out with a guy that they met on social networking without seeing a photo of him first.

But if you derive enjoyment from facebook, then that is all that counts. I know that you were down for a while and it's good to see that you're apparently feeling better.

Me neither at first. I had a photo of myself for the first few years on facebook. But nowadays a lot more people don't have their pic up. And as long as at least one pic of yourself is up I dont think its that weird.

yea thanks for the well wishes.

i just saw this depressing *** baldness meme on facebook tho :(.

good snapshot of the general group sentiment :(. of course truthful as its online and in joke form, which is a nice way to get out uncomfortable truths like this. a form of levity really

i was just reading about fat jokes and how its like a psychological pressure valve. when people are laughing at them they stop judging themselves for hating on fat people. this kind reminds me of that

Why else would people choose to put their dating status on the main page if it wasn't to let others know they're available to date.
