Well, in some cases, when the hair is almost gone and you put minoxidil on some hair that is doomed to fall soon anyways, it could accentuate and fasten the process and maybe the hair does not come back because it's very affected by the DHT and who knows what other factors that are involved in the hair miniaturization. Nobody knows exactly and i'm not stating anything, it's just my opinion gathered and based on my experience, the information i gathered these years about hair loss and of others experiences, including doctors, dermatologists, random people, more knowledgeable ones and so on...

If you have a full and strong head of hair on your head and the hair shaft is thick and the miniaturization process is at start and slow, i don't think it could cause damage, but if the hair is hanging there for it's life, i really think it can't make it go again terminal without a DHT blocker or something, and as i said, it's fake, if you drop the minoxidil the hair is dead, it's like an illusion, it's vellus hair transformed into a weak terminal hair that feeds with the minoxidil, you drop it's food source, it dies..

I'm confused. If you shed because of minoxidil, you are a responder and new hair should grow. Or you mean people with so severe thinning that the hair is almost vellus like hair?

You say that you will grow new hair, but they are not terminal. That is known with minoxidil for head hair, but apparently not for beard if used consistently long.

But its not like minoxidil will cause hair fall and NOT grow new hair? That makes no sense at all unless it's a case of severely thin hair that won't ever grow out as said, which would be strange again.

Well in some cases experienced by random people and from my own also, minoxidil destroyed my already front thin hair and never grew back after the discontinuation and it also made other thicker hair fall that grew back thinner than it was, it changed my hair texture for at least a year, it felt wispy and lifeless and not even now i can't say that it was like it was before i applied that sh*t on my head.

I have to admit tho that the hair that fell was already on the miniaturizing process but my opinion that it would have lasted maybe another few cycles before not growing anymore. But minoxidil made it fall for good, i really don't have an explanation for what happened, it's just that i was way worse after the treatment than before it, and you can search google and see a lot of cases and experiences like this, it's rather common for whatever reasons there are...

But i already said this, read my messages and understand that it's only my experience. Everybody is different nobody can't actually predict how you or somebody else will react...

It's just weird that it seems minoxidil in your case pushed out miniaturized hair and not doing the rest of the job and pushing out new, thick, and healthy hair.

I thought minoxidil was for just that, regrow thinning hair in miniaturize stages.

Well as i said, depending on the stage of the miniaturization and the damage that has already been done by time, adrogens bla bla what minoxidil only does it to keep the hairs that you have into a more longer growing faze and without the help of some dermarolling or a dht blocker it can't revive hairs that are so miniaturized that can't reach the surface, not being able to push through the skin and not only those hairs, even the ones that are at the surface as vellus, if they are deeply damaged, minoxidil won't get them into terminal faze, not without some help from other things at least.

It's more complicated than it sounds and not even now after 30 years since it was discovered by mistake, we don't know the actual pathway that involves the hairs grown, disruption of cycles and so on. There are too many factors and everybody's response being so different from one to another, only makes things more complicated... It would be dope if all of us would respond the same way to treatments, but unfortunately it's not the case.

So there are miniaturized hair that is so small that it is not even sticking out of the skin?

Vellus hair obviously sticks through the skin so they should serve as a pathway for new hair to stick out

When they can't reach the skin, the hair lost it's contact with the shaft or something like that, i have read it somewhere and it's miniaturized at a maximum stage. I heard that even those hairs could be somehow revived but it's very hard and only if they are not detached of the follicles shafts itself. There is much we don't know yet but i'm sure that with time we will have a more clear explanation of the whole process.

The one that is outside but bombarded by DHT and in the last stages of the miniaturization minoxidil only won't be able to get it terminal, at least not the majority of it, and not without some support from a DHT blocker, maybe some dermarolling, etc. There will be some that maybe will grow without any of this and only by the hand of the minoxidil? Who knows, probably not in my opinion and you would have to monitor and keep track of each hair so idk if that is possible, at least not without some micro technology...

Most doctors say that if the hair miniaturized to an approx of 50%, it's very hard to bring it back without any kind of strong support. So you could make an idea...
