Hi all, I thought I would put together a list of all the possible treatments, hopefully with your help. If you have any treatments to add to the list please write the treatment along with it's category. To keep it short I will only write the names of each treatment/active ingredient.

DHT Blockers:
Propecia/finasteride
Saw Palmetto
Dutasteride

Growth Stimulators:
Minoxidil

Anti-inflammatories:
Green Tea Extract
Licorice extract
Ketaconazol
Salicylic Acid
Honey

To begin with I have just posted some treatments from the top of my head, I plan to add some more and keep this post updated with your additions.

We should think of as many treatments possible for the best regimen possible. I added everything I could think of that has some form of science backing it. I would appreciate it if others would add or do research so this list can become larger and more effective. It would be best if each listed treatment had a clinical study to prove efficacy. When somebody new to the hair loss battle finds this thread they will be able to educate themselves instantly with the information available. Instead of searching around and lurking various websites for years like most of us here. In other words, this would be a good headstart for them.

This sounds Interesting but who knows:

Forgot where I got this pic from and I modified it, but if you download it and use googles search by image maybe you can find the website. A while ago I was trying to think of everything I could that would have a positive effect on each of these areas. Anti-inflammatories might indirectly have an effect on 5-Alpha Reductase. Growth stimulators would probably fall under DHT metabolism. Where DHT blockers fit into we all kinda know, but if I am looking at this right there could be a link between metformin and free testosterone. If all these areas can be controlled carefully with a regimen, then maybe hair loss can be beaten for much longer. I am probably wrong on where I put a few treatments but was trying to get close enough.

As far as I know, minoxidil. has a mech of action very different that DHT metabolism.
Also, I find metformin interesting as it may be pro-hair due to inflammation reduction and other mechanisms. Also berberine.

It was a while back. but I saw before on this site, someone was saying that metformin is an aromatase inhibitor but only in the breasts. could be something to look into.

This Study shows what is needed to stop hair loss and grow hair:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27552901

Grow Hair:

Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1):https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin-like_growth_factor_1

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF):https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vascular_endothelial_growth_factor

Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidermal_growth_factor

Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 (FGF-2): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_fibroblast_growth_factor

Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endothelial_NOS

Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wnt_signaling_pathway

prostaglandin E (PGE): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostaglandin_E

prostaglandin F (PGF): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prostaglandin_F_receptor

How each performs:

Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10673454

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC199257/

Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12714603

Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 (FGF-2): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25685806

Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18238792

Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-32138-2

prostaglandin E (PGE) and prostaglandin F (PGF): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17697149

How to Increase:

Insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3947832/ and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ibutamoren

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF): Boosted --> https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12803882 --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipopolysaccharide

Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF): Immune System Interesting https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-018-30404-x According to Wikipedia, Epidermal growth factor can be found in urine, saliva, milk, tears, and plasma. The production of epidermal growth factor has been found to be stimulated by testosterone. There’s always been some debate about testosterone causing hair loss like DHT and then some disagree and say it helps hair growth. What if it stops helping hair growth and starts hurting hair when it no longer stimulates epidermal growth factor in the scalp for whatever reason?

Fibroblast Growth Factor 2 (FGF-2): Need to investigate this more

Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29806986

Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30213979 Morroniside is extracted from Cornus officinalis https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornus_officinalis

prostaglandin E (PGE) and prostaglandin F (PGF): Dinoprostone, alprostadil, Setipiprant, and maybe Cetirizine, latanoprost

Kill Hair:

5α-reductase and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) == Stop with Finasteride, Dutasteride etc

transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3513570/

fibroblast growth factor 5 (FGF-5): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11779149 and https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5338843/ --> Isolates from the monoterpenoid family displayed efficacy in FGF5 inhibition in vitro

prostaglandin D2 (PGD2): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3982925/ reduce inflammation as much as possible

They need to make a topical that blocks all the bad stuff and slight to moderate increase all the good stuff.

Actually, now that I think about it this is topical in the form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). If supplementing was done with lemon(hesperetin), menthol or peppermint (monoterpenoid), water, animal protein or meat and milk (IGF-1 increase and EGF), PGD2 inhibitor (cetirizine, setipiprant), Iron balance (improve eNOS), cornus officinalis (Wnt/β-catenin), low dose oral minoxidil (pge2 increase or COX-2 inhibitor?), and an anti-androgen(finasteride or dutasteride) at least 2-3 months beforehand, would there be a greater effect? I wonder if that's why there are better results in people who are young and or taking an anti-androgen? I think I will use some of these as a diet plan for my next treatment while keeping sugar low and increasing omega 3 good cholesterol.

Grow hair

Ibutamoren or mk-677 - increase GH and (IGF-1), doesn’t effect cortisol, newer drug, used in bodybuilding, could cause mental side effects

Endotoxins -
https://onlinesciencenotes.com/toxins-and-differences-between-endotoxins-and-exotoxins/ for Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)

EGF serum - Said to speed wound recovery and stimulate skin growth. It is used in cosmetics for skin anti aging.

Iron chelation therapy - healthy balance of hemoglobin and iron for Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS)?

Cornus officinalis - Used in China, Japan and Korea as food and as a medicinal plant. protective effects on auditory cells, alleviate oxidative stress from increase Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway

Bimatoprost and or minoxidil - prostaglandin effect pge2

Kill hair

Menthol - A monoterpenoid to inhibit fibroblast growth factor 5 (FGF-5). Peppermint Oil could be better https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4289931/

Finasteride - To reduce dht

Cetirizine - https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/28604133/ and https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/28604133/ reduce PGD2 levels and inflammation

Lemon - Contains hesperetin as its main flavonoid for inhibiting transforming growth factor beta (TGF-B)

forgot dutasteride, estrogen, and castration. nice try OP

Information can be worthless if you don’t know what type of hair loss your fighting. There are many different things that could be going wrong at one time. I was on your thread DHTcel and you said that you had a blood test that showed nothing and everything you are doing isn’t stopping your loss. Anyway, I found this on the web and it might be some use to you and whoever else. If you know somebody that can use your phone to zoom in and take a pic of your scalp. Then you can compare the look of your hair and hair follicles to the examples in this document below. Maybe you will find something blood tests aren’t registering for whatever reason.

I found a dope solution that folks dont know about!

idk if there is any real way to stop hairloss. It all seems like a scam.
anyways i was super desperate and lost my hair at 19, and was gonna do a transplant.

I found SMP (scalp micropigmentation) through a place in California called Scalpmasters instead
and HOLY WOWW it looks good. changed my life. it was expensive, but my confidence is back. I WANT TO TELL EVERYONE.

you gotta be careful tho. I got mine done by EXPERTS. DONT go through bosley or any of that sh*t. they ruin peoples heads. I got mine done in Cali by Scalpmastersinc. They use special needles and organic pigment.
Check them out.
Im from Texas. They picked me up from the airport in a f*****g LIMO. So if you can find something like them do it. They do women too!

Yeah, scalp micro pigmentation that is one that I thought to add and then forgot. I am glad that SMP worked really well for you. I am the type of person that likes my hair long like it always has been until now but SMP is really useful for people that need parts filled in or like the stubble look.
