It's usless, minoxidil doing it already, if this histogen thing won't limit the body from producing dht then hair gonna keep falling, hairloss will be cured compleatly when science will know how to change the body so he will not produce dht, aka turning a balding male system to a non balding male system

Beingbaldsucksass: for sure it's not like that. The most recent studies are not pointed on how stopping DHT (which is useful in a small part for the body) but how to prevent the follicle miniaturization (see Cotstarelis' one)

Histogen probably won't be the final cure but it seems that, after several injections, the follicles are able to produce new hairs which still grow after one year from the first injection and that's positive because this means that they are not so DHT sensible.

DHT seems only the starter of the process COX2/PGD2 which leads to follicle miniaturization.

PS: I agree with you that the FINAL CURE is the genetic one which will permit to change all the BAD baldness genes

i dont think a cure will come. they said it 10 yrs ago but we're stuck with drugs loaded with sides. still no new treatment. until there's bald men spreading bald genes this hairloss will go on forever.

Of course there won't be a cure. That would damage our economy too much. What will come indefinitely, though, are better treatments.

I think I recall about 10 years and no doubt 10 years before that people were saying a cure would come out yet nothing.. and that was decades ago.

The fact is whoever releases a proper cure is standing on a gold mine and is literally a billionair, and no ones done it yet.

So I dont think a cure will come out not for a very long time.

stem cell therapy looks promising but they have'nt figure it out yet for this s**t. i hope they can make a drug/injection that protects those follicles from dying, like some sort of botox injection that work for months.

There is to much money to be had to not come up with a treatment that will be more effective than Propecia or minoxidil....Economy pressures will not withstand...Propecia and minoxidil are dinosaurs now and something new has to emerge...I think what we'll see is treatments that will completely stop hairloss and provide better coverage but not a complete restoration

I cant believe how pessimistic some people are. I mean in the next 20 years we will for sure have something like CB 03 01 that at least stops male pattern baldness from getting worse and I guess prevents hair loss maybe forever. I think regrowing hair will also be better but how much is really anyones guess. It will be a lot better though and I mean passing on balding genes is irrelevant because its only a matter of time until male pattern baldness is flat out cured. I think in 20 years it will be cured and I think stem cells will play a part but they themselves might not cure it directly. Once researchers can use stem cells to understand how male pattern baldness works at a molecular level I think they will find good ways to treat it. Propecia and rogain are very outdated in terms of what we now know about how male pattern baldness works

We should for once look at the bigger picture and not the limited frame of the human life span, or the even more limited "useful" period (let's say between ages 20 and 60). Regenerative medicine and biotechnology are advancing and one day they will solve this puzzle. We may be not in life till then. But unless some major disaster happens to stop progress, it will be solved. Future generations will benefit, if not the more young of the existing generations also.

In my mind it is as simple as this. We better live our lives for what they are worth and control the hair loss-induced stress, which only aggravates the situation from every point of view. If a solution comes soon, let it come. If not, life is still nice.

And before someone tells me that I keep such a calm attitude towards this issue because I do not suffer from Androgenetic Alopecia, let me say (and remind to the older members) that I am Norwood 7 since many years. The irony and bitter part of it is that in my age (nearing 44) I am still in perfect condition with the slender body of a teen, so baldness seems so strange on me. This summer, while wearing a hat, I was told by unknown people that I look like a young man in his 20s, and, being with my teen daughter, that I look like her big brother or husband! Yes, it was that distressing.

So, where is this ''magical injection''? Fortunately, over the years I learned to enjoy my ... hairless life so that baldness degenerated to a simply practical annoyance that has some positive aspects also.

wait then you saying that pre finasteride time was exectly the same as now? remember 13 years ago this forum wouldent had a reason to exist because there wasent any treatment to stop baldness, and now science solved the question how to block hairloss, only dident discover how to reverse baldness

i think he meant a better treatment than finasteride/minoxidil. this treatment are more than a decade ago and counting. even if a new one comes only the super rich i think can avail it.
