I don't know how I feel about blazer, tshirt, dress pants. It's very tone deaf.

I actually dont like what he is wearing in pic--i mean for 'him' but for every day man thats hard stuff to pull off. I like the black coat but thats very body conscious and probably $5000 coat.
Double breasts is hard t pull off male or female.
If you follow a celebs style you have to do it with similar body type.
I can never wear what Sara Jessica Parker wears she is like a ballerina size.

Not really. Connor McGregor is roughly average in the face but look how much better he looks now he style himself well.
He's gone from an ugly wee sh*t to a dapper man.

More of an edgy/youthful style, maybe not exactly what you're looking for being an academic and all.
He rocks some more classy outfits as well though. For example:
Notice the double monk strap shoes on both pics. Big fan of that style. Very stylish and stand out while still being appropriate for business
attire.
Also dig the the belted coat. Accentuates the slim waist a lot (if you have one that is). Looking for one like this myself.

Without the fame I would say 6 at best - but the clothes and style really help IMO
