Yeah but not bc of the alcohol but of antioxidants that the vine contains

Of course, you took the wrong example with wine, but finasteride is gonna fucked your health more than a low alcohol comsumption anyway on long term

Reminder why microdosing could be legit:

"
A growing body of research is offering clues about why finasteride might cause these symptoms in a subset of men. It suggests the enzyme that Propecia shuts down—5-alpha-reductase—does a lot more than convert testosterone to the hair-killing dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It also converts hormones like cortisol and progesterone into "neurosteroids" that play key roles in the brain.

"Blocking 5 alpha-reductase to any degree in the brain is a crapshoot," says Alan Jacobs, a New York–based neuroendocrinologist. "Theoretically, you are going to block the production of hormones that serve very important behavioral purposes"

Its true - the less finasteride you take the less dht gets blocked - even tho as this thread proof the difference regarding dht between 1 to 0.2mg finasteride are super minor

But we dont know if thats the same for the convertion of neurosteroids

Maybe correlation isnt linear to the dht effect

But who knows - maybe microdosing is even more harmful..

"Urologist Kevin McVary, of Southern Illinois University, also has his doubts. When he crunched FDA data from thousands of reports of finasteride-related side effects, he found that men in their 20s and 30s taking a 1 mg dose for hair loss were far more likely to report side effects than older men taking a 5 mg dose for prostate problems. He finds that "fishy"."

It sounds awful, but those are not the same populations. Men who taken finasteride in their 20s have aggressive hair loss, due to having more androgen receptors on their scalp. If there's anything else about them that's different, that could make them more prone to side effects.

Would really interesting to see if the different dosis affect the neurosteroids the same way..

I thought the DHT in the skin was primarily from the 5 ar 1 enzyme though so why would finasteride lower significantly the DHT in the skin tissues since its not a type 1 inhibitor?
Younger men are much more sexually active then older men so its more likely they would notice drastic changes like sex problems. Its not all that surprising they report more problems. I mean sexual problems are like 98 percent of all the sides men have on propecia.

As I've reported here https://www.hairlosstalk.com/intera...centration-or-total-dose.129500/#post-1910267 I've been using 0.12mg topically for 2.5 weeks. I've experienced the following side effects:
  • testicular pain (mostly subsided after the first week)
  • occasional dizzines
  • tiredness
  • Most importantly of all: Face pain. It moves somewhere between my jaws, jaw muscles and the front of my cheeks under my eyes. Every morning I loook like a zombie. I can even feel the bags under my eyes.
That being said, I'm going to discontinue it and perhaps try again at a lower dose. Something like 0.01 - 0.05mg topically. Perhaps not even daily.
