possibly idk

its like a gigantic extremely complicated puzzle that only a few people are really trying to solve, which is what pisses me off

you think those 48 year old norwood 1s really have motivation to try to find a better medication?

like that costarelis, who leads replicel, dude dont give a **** about hair loss, only profits

its doctors like dr. bernstein who i bet actually have motivation, since he is actually bald

If a real cure come out tomorrow (nw7-nw1), there will be millionaires in line for the treatment first. Only people like prince william and trump will be able to afford it. It won't come in a bottle at the drug store.

I think a cure or a better treatment is already available for some, just check how there's some still young celebrities with amazing hair density restoration and not with the fake stuff or hair transplant.

Really how significant this turns out to be is just a complete guess and speculation no one has any clue until its said and done. Its just impossible on any kind of stuff like this to say much of anything until its all proven and done with.

so why John Travolta is still bald? :)

I think surgery goes against the so-called Church of Freaks, oh, I mean Church of Scientology....I think he would be a good candidate for hair transplant....gawd, remember the freak hair he had in Grease when he was young??? wow, goes to show you can never tell who will lose it....

you are very correct sparx, i used that to comfort myself as a teen, that since i had nice hair i wouldn't lose it

NOPE, anyone can lose their hair, it doesn't matter how nice, how thick, how low the hairline is, it doesn't even matter if theres no history of hair loss in the family

I know hair loss right now is kind of a mess because our current treatments frankly are not that good and kind of dangerous if your talking propecia. I really think though 5 - 10 this time and keeping your hair will be optional and safe. I think CB alone will have a good chance of being able to do that discounting all the other discoveries recently. So I think in 5 years if you started going bald you will be able to basically stop it maybe forever.
Its just kind of a frustrating time right now because it feels finasteride is the only option anyone has for prevention and I still feel it sounds dangerous long term to use that with too many unknowns worth risking for a cosmetic thing.

2 years is the new 5 years for the hair loss news industry

Earlier, it was in the next five years.
After Cotsarelis, its now 2 years.

I wish I wasnt so sensitive to finasteride and could take it. Its a miracle drug in terms of what it does to hair loss prevention.

Well I mean CB is in phase 2 trials right now so if it panned out it would be out somewhere near 2016 so I mean that is less then 5 years technically and there are numerous other discoveries like the PGD2 thing which might turn out to be a significant thing. It will take at least 4 or 5 years though for it to turn into anything. I will agree though the amount of time we are talking here is pretty huge I mean 5 years is a very very long time when we dont live forever.

Holy **** I had a pdg2 blocker in my cabin all along, Its called mizollen got it from the army doctor [...]

Ok, so we're all excited about this new treatment but has anyone here actually tried one of those pdg2 blockers? Did they work or not?

I've been taking finasteride for 14 years with good results but I would love to try a safer option.

No one really has any clue what PGD2 really means or what could come of it. What people report on the forum for their own mixture just doesnt mean anything really. We need to see real professional results to really draw any kind of conclusions.

I wish people would drop the whole PGD2. Merck released a message last year indicating that one of their PGD2 blocking drugs have no effect on hairloss. Also lets keep things in perspective, this news came out last year and there are drugs already out there that block pgd2(antihistamines). Plus, if there was a link between allergies(high PGD2) and hairloss, it would have been noticed a long time ago. I believe CB-03-01 is the future which was mentioned abcdefg. They are in phase II right now for androgenic alopecia and acne vulgaris. The phase I trial almost doubled the hair diameter of patients using the 1% cb-03-01 lotion and increased the anagen phase pretty remarkably(can't remember the exact amount) which is beyond remarkable. However, I feel like 2016 is probably a realistic release date for the product which is a little disappointing for many hairloss sufferers who don't have this kind of time to wait.

people have been getting significant results with ru-58841 but you have to order it overseas is pretty sketchy and at a really high price. Plus, I'm not sure of the legality of doing this since this may be considered a controlled substance which is illegal to import without a prescription.
