not good!! im thinking of giving dutastride a try myself but keep reading horror stories.

What I would say though is that this is the same level of loss as pre dutasteride so the dutasteride hasn't made it worse, just has failed to make any impact

Man I am always at a loss when I see people on crazy aggressive regimens who are still losing hair. Explanations I can think of are that the loss is just extremely, extremely aggressive, or maybe the individual's follicles are sensitive to a something other than DHT

Is 1mg dutasteride the highest dosage you tried? I know some guys go up to 2.5mg....

Cheers for the response, yes it makes no sense. I need a turnaround from somewhere.
I would be interested to see what 2.5mg a day does although that would be £150 a month for that alone which is out of my capabilities at the moment.

Yeah 2.5mg dutasteride could definitely get expensive

Would you consider something like RU in case it's testosterone or some androgen other than DHT getting through to the follicles? I am somewhat skeptical about RU but you've really exhausted the options, so at this point I'm just trying to think of anything that may have a chance of helping

Thanks, I'l have another look into RU but as you say I'm not convinced by results that I've seen so far from people. It doesn't seem to be much of a game changer

Nothing works, I'm at my wits end here. I've added hydrocortisone cream to see if that makes any difference and a sebum scalp clearing shampoo. I've really had f*****g enough of this, not in a good place.

I've added a10% minoxidil and finasteride mix which should be here soon and I'm thinking of throwing oral spironolactone and oral minoxidil at it but I'm still looking for someone who has reversed loss like mine.

spironolactone is a really weak anti androgen. Also considering how long you've been fighting hair loss I would say the meds have definitely slowed your loss down! I too have had no maintenance or regrowth with treatments.. Although when I did start Androcur I believe my hairloss has slowed down a little bit.

An update, hair continuing to miniaturise. I have dropped everything apart from 0.5mg dutasteride (daily) + regenepure DR (twice a week)
Starting a strong weekly dermaroller, dermapen routine - 15mins once a week
10% morr f minxo/finasteride mix once a day on the other days in the evening.
Frustrating because for all the work I've put into this I feel that I'm almost there in sorting this out,
find the right angle and I can reverse this...More than deserved for everything I've put into this.

Lets see what happens

You remind me of me. Been on dutasteride for 2 years, RU, Seti, dermaneedling, and more. Topical morr f for several months. Still diffuse thinning and recession continues. Best guess is that my hair is testosterone sensitive so I'm focusing on applying RU and seti consistently at appropriate doses every day. I agree that RU has shown very little real proof that it works well, but there aren't many options for topical anti-androgens that till block both DHT and T. CB comes to mind, but its too expensive for me.

Any updates on your progress?

3 years on and I'm now at the point of no return, have thrown everything at this f*****g situation.
Last throw of the dice is Dualgen 15 from Minoxidil Max which I am on week 6 of.
its minox15% topical finasteride azelaic acid mix. The strongest minoxidil topical I can find. Hopefully this hits it from all angles.
I'll update with photos if I get progress.
I thought it was beginning to work but today had tha whole sink covered in hair after running hands through it, 200 hairs?

Fingers crossed this is a minoxidil shed, I can sit that out for 2 weeks if I see stabilisation and regrowth

No I haven't. thanks
I guess RU could be next if this doesn't work although I haven't seen many RU results with good photos
It’s worth a try if nothing else works. Is your hair loss diffuse or temple recession?

4 months on minoxidilmax dualgen 15% - which is:
minoxidil 15%
azelaic acid
0.1% finasteride

No results so far. just more thinning and receeding.

I intend to see some progress on this so will stick with it.
