You are depressed BECAUSE of your hairloss. SSRI's are f*****g stupid.

The only SSRI I would use is Priligy for premature ejaculation. If It works I don't c*m as fast I may not blow my brains out with a shotgun just yet.

I'd say my hairloss is a big part of my depression but not all of it but I have other issues as well. If my hairloss was fully cured it would make the other stuff easier to deal with.

Well it's 2018 now and my hairloss is still getting worse. I think it's almost been a year since I had my last mental breakdown and I think the only reason I've not had one sooner is because I'm on treatments at the moment but they're also part of my misery now. I've been on finasteride for nearly 5 months at 0.5mg and the only thing I've got from it so far is watery semen and weak erections (i'm still losing hair even after all this) and the only other treatment I'm on is minoxidil which pretty much does nothing for me.

I think the only thing that's kept me composed so far is that ''I'm doing something about it'', apart from that it's still distressing when I shed hairs in the shower. I should be on SSRI's right now but I'm on finasteride so I don't want to risk the intensity of side effects. It's a sh*t situation, at least depressed people that don't have hairloss can still try an ssri, but I can't bring myself to even do that, as i'd have to get off finasteride and lose all my hair which would make me more depressed in the long run. I've arranged for a therapist but I'm on the waiting list right now.

To add to all this I've got exams in a week and a half. I don't know what to do for my hairloss I'm at a dead end, it feels like I've exhausted all my options. The only thing I can hope for is shesido to come out this year, I think that's my last option but for the mean time I'm mentally incapable of tolerating this any further.
Mate you could just have a sh*t ton of androgen receptors in your scalp/hair follicles. And if you're only on finasteride, it barely reduces scalp dht since it only inhibits type 2 AR. You need to hop on dutasteride asap if you want to really protect your hair follicles as it targets both 5-AR types, and I think 0.5 mg will reduce scalp dht by 50% and serum by 80%. I forget these days, but you also need to get a topical anti-androgen asap. I'd recommend RU58841!!!! Research more into this forum or internet. You could potentially find what works for you. You just got to experiment.

I would but I can just about tolerate 0.5mg finasteride. I think dutasteride would be too much.

Try RU58841. It's a topical so you wont get systematic absorption, only local, and it'll block the receptors from dht. I would definitely look into adding some kind of topical aa if you have problems with oral meds.

I'll into RU, the only problem is that it seems a lot more time consuming. I think I'll give finasteride a few months to see if it's doing anything.
