Need help with Lexapro induced ED, any advice?

Antidepressants have to be some of the worst drugs out there. They absolutely killed my libido,erections,etc. Your basically useless in bed, never seen anything like it. Your penis is basically an organ for peeing only. Good news i was able to recover after a few weeks of taking them.

Its ironic you take the medication for depression and completely loosing your sex drive gives you more depression. What a double edge sword.

Do you remember if your libido came back gradually or BOOM one day you woke up with your libido back?

I think it was gradually but within a few weeks of stopping the medication.

Do you know how long he's been taking it?

Apparently my depression started crawling back cuz Lexapro started losing its effectiveness after 6 months or so, it wasn't just libido, it affected every other field of my life and I wasn't aware until I got off the meds and it got way worse (thank God for that wake up call)

In reality I should have probably upped my dose or switched meds but my psychiatrist was a dick so I couldn't communicate with him

I dropped my old psychiatrist and got on Brintellix (an atypical SSRI that's known to have less sexual side effects) a week ago, every day is a battle, I constantly feel better and then worse

After seeking a new psychiatrist for days (most of them are scammers) I found a reliable one who said he knows how to work with an impaired libido, gonna see him next week hopefully, he told me to keep taking Brintellix for now.

On and off about 6 months

Yeah he mentioned the effects have started wearing off slightly and might up the dosage

Hopefully you have some success with the Brintellix. I have diazepam (benzos) that I keep for occasions I need to be calm - job interviews etc. If that stuff worked without becoming ineffective that would be a life changer

That's pretty sh*t you have trouble finding a decent psychiatrist. I just go to my regular doctor, he will give me whatever. I have trouble sleeping so I get quetiapine. Knocks you out & is a good relaxant

f*** SSRIs in general man, made finasteride look like a sugar pill to me. I used finasteride successfully for a year and then got prescribed fluoxetine 80mg because of depression. It gave me fkn gyno in like a week and very bad ED and retrograde ejaculation, it was horrible, worst part is SSRIs have a very long half life of like 30 days and they work cumulatively. Worst part is I had to stop finasteride coz I'm scared it will make the gyno worse. Luckily I think I'm over it now but it took a while, but I'm definitely in a worse position after taking it.

How long did it take you to recover?

I quit Lexapro 4 days ago

Right now my situation is like this

- can only get an erection when I'm with gf
- it only lasts some seconds
- very little to no sensitivity on my dick
- can't achieve an orgasm

Also have nausea, diarrhea, brain fog, weird emotions or lack of emotions, vivid dreams etc

I have been on lexapro forever. Its only ever helped me with my sex life, well unless the girl gets tired because I could never finish. Are you sure its not something else? The not acheiving orgasm thing is a prob yes, but I think its because it calms your anxiety. I went from a seriously quick finisher in my young years to a stallion like almost over night lol. I just found that I needed to find positions where I got the most mental and physical senssation in my penis to finish.
Doggy always worked or lazy doggy where shes on her stomach lying flat and I was behind/on top. Those seemed to always hit the most sensitive spots for me. maybe too personal TBH
