Update at end of current thread

hello I’m new here and from the UK. I’m worried about my hair....hence being here... my hair has always been fine but recently I have noticed it’s very thin at the top. The hairdresser said I have nothing to worry about but on photos I can see a bald patch but in person it’s much less visible.

I have however started to take Finasteride and using hair loss shampoo by L’Oreal so hope I might see some improvement but it’s been already two months.

Do you have any other advice?

Ditch the loreal and get nizoral 2% to use 2-3 times per week which has clinical backing behind its efficacy. The finasteride should make a visible difference and more importantly halt your losses.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have a small bottle of a DHT shampoo picture attached. But have not used it yet as I thought that would clash with the finasteride. With the finasteride would I see regrowth? I understand if you also want to have kids you stop taking it? Do you know what type of hair loss I have?

Dude your hair loss looks very similar to mine. Check my history.

I'm planning on going Regenepure(it's the same as Nizoral but gentler on your hair, more natural) and topical 5%minoxidil. If I don't see any results 6 months down the road I will add topical finasteride to my regimen, which has been proven to work almost as efficiently as oral finasteride.

Really how do I check your history? So the DHT I have is no good? I found this Nizoral on eBay but it says it’s anti dandruff

So many different options! What is the best to use with Oral finasteride?

it was an irony, mate

any shampoo is doing sh*t

just use nizoral twice a week + your favorite shampoo and you will be fine

Look at my pics. Please click on the imgur link and tell me if it's similar to your condition

You can try oral finasteride but the side effects are a huge turn off for me. Maybe you should try minoxidil + Nizoral/regenepure first. It after a couple months it does not work add topical finasteride.

Yes mate it’s the same pretty much. I have been on and off finasteride oral. About 1 year ago I was 0.5mg to see if it had any side effects. For me it did not and then I stopped because of cost. I then got a look at my head again and started up this time on 1mg that was about 2 months ago no side effects thus far still can get it up haha.

But would like to try something else with it so the link I posted about the Nizoral seems to be the right one? The regenprue seems expensive too but the women one is cheaper I guess it does not really matter I posted pics below.

If you didn't have any sides go back to oral finasteride then mate. Regenepure is expensive but it's like a fancier and more natural Nizoral. It can help making your hair feel way less dry and hence stronger which can only be good against hair loss.

Super mate! Yeah I’m on Finasteride now just see what else I can do. The Nizoral that I posted is that the right one? And if I did get some regenepure is the women one ok? Seems the same and cheaper

Cannot see Nizoral in your list. And if you go regenepure you wanna get the DR which contains 1% keto like the Nizoral (in the U.K. You might be able to get 2% Nizoral OTC).
The NT you added is just a hair thickening shampoo. Nice to have but superfluous.

Also try to get some Kirkland rather than rogaine as it's cheaper.

We have a different packaging in the us. It's blue but I also check on Amazon first just so you don't get a dud...

Also, I think your hair looks fine. As you take finasteride, did you notice a stop in hairloss? If you are fine with your hair count right now there might be no need to go minoxidil.

That’s a good point about amazon but it seems to be the right one. I think yours looks fine to! I’ve not noticed any difference hence want to tackle it from both sides. So is Nizoral minoxidil? As it say anti dandruff

No Nizoral is a shampoo that fights dandruff but also contains kento which has been proven to help fight hairloss.

Minoxidil promotes growth and hair strength

Finasteride disminishes dht in your blood level which is the underlying cause of hair loss as it attacks hair follicles.

Just go minoxidil 2/3x a week + oral finasteride. If in 5 months you are still losing hair and/or want regrowth add minoxidil to the regimen

Your hairdresser is either lying or delusional, you clearly have male pattern baldness. finasteride should halt your loss. You should revaluate in 6 months, maybe add in loniten after that if you are not satisfied.
