Not Having Kids Due To Faulty Genes

I'm just curious to hear if there are any people on here who will not have children because they ethically disagree with passing on faulty genetic symptoms.

For me, my family has some members with autism (though I do not have it), Bipolar (which I don't have it). dyslexia (have), ADHD (have), and male pattern baldness (have). My ex had depression and because of that and because of my faulty genealogy I decided I didn't want children as their was a likelihood that they would have a higher chance of learning difficulties or mental illness.

The hair loss is a secondary thought, though. I'd rather not pass that on but I do not think it would be a deal breaker. Hell, the child could have been a girl.

Anyway, will any of you decide to not have children because of what you may pass on?

Is it a 100% certain that the gene would be passed on? I have some male pattern baldness going on. My older brother doesn't.

Not for male pattern baldness but with all the other things - Is it ethical to bring someone in to the world with bipolar? Imagine the suffering!

Was thinking about this the other day. Just the male pattern baldness part though.

If I end up having a son I'm going to start a hair transplant fund for him when he's young and get him on treatment at a good age. As male pattern baldness in my family is strong as hell.

Hmm not for Baldness. My father and grandfather are two full hair guys even with a high age.Baldness is rare in my family but i and my cousins are the lucky guys with hair loss.

If you are baldness that doesn't mean your children will be also baldness guys.
Also a Norwood 1 guy is absolute NOT a guarantee that your children have no problem with baldness.

I do not want kids. Just dont like kids thats all :D my beautiful dog is enough for me.

I will have children but if they test positive for high risk of Androgenetic Alopecia I will obviously smother them in their sleep.

Yeah the threat of passing hair loss onto kiddos is a real future humdinger,
straight up there with homicidal mania on the 'Procreator's Guidebook' watch list.

Better fate than being bald.

You'll be a great dad.

I'll just tell my children what my father tells me every now and then:

"You deserved it!"

I hope you pass on your grandmother's method to your children:

"Just imagine you have hair!"

Lol at people here tell about that "baldness is not 100% chance to pass to child!!!"

And what if your kid would be that lucky to win in lottery and get this gene from you? What will you say to your child? That he didn't catch the chances that you hoped for?

How will you behave when he will rapidly loosing his hair in school/college and will be silently locked in the room? Look at fred's father.

Another justification for selfishness – "I am sure there will be a cure at that time!". Yes, sure...

It is cruel to expose another people (especially those you care about) to those sufferings you passed through.

For me I have Early male pattern baldness (from baldcel father) + retrograde alopecia + Asperger syndrome (mild autism) + manletism + small asian frame.

I DO NOT WANT to have a son who will look like me. You won't believe how hard to live with Asperger itself let alone HAIRLOSS.

Let reproduce to genetically normal people.

Just enjoy your life.

I did mean this post in terms of all genetic defaults and not just hair loss

I want to reproduce, but it hurts me to much to think about what my son will have to endure, and how much pain I went through. Small frame, and skinny with the smallest muscles ever prior to lifting, and then eventually balding.

it would tear me apart for my kid to have to go through this.

Only way I would take a chance is with a women who has good genes. Strong, thick, and dense hair, good muscle:BF ratio where she has the thickness in size that I lack on a genetic level. Most importantly good bones, which can be exhibited on her ankles, and wrists. Women with healthy bodies tend to have solid calve development I tend to notice.

I can't take any risks. OH. and not marrying a f*****g manlet like my dad did. Moms like 5'1....

Get your burial arrangement details in order good people.
At the hair raising rate this thread is falling, by sundown,
we'll have thoroughly 'abstained mankind' into extinction.

I'll have children if a girl lets me.

I want my live my life the way fullheads can live theirs.

So these privileged people can have children but we can't?

How many things are you going to give up because of your hair loss?

If a girl agrees to have kids with you, you're good, you won.

Even I'd be fullhead I'd not have a child anyway so I am probably biased.

Yes you can have a child... But do you want to have a subhuman child? I doubt it.

As I recall you father is shorter than 6'0, it is manlet borderline in Belgium, Dutch and etc.

Now imagine your child will get both manletism and premature balding. Death sentence. Life in humiliation.

Many of families do not divorce only because of kids... They think divorce will ruin child's life. So they continue to live together in mutual hate.

If wife/gf is with you without child it mostly means she is with you because of you yourself (or your money, it depends).

If you have a child together she probably doesn't want to break with you because of child.

So, "If a girl agrees to have kids with you, you're good, you won." is debatable.

You have the wrong impression of Dutch people and height.

I'm British and 5'11, the UK average is 5'9 and in Holland it is 5'10.

Small by my book is below 5'8.

average is not enough in 2016 in every aspect

salary, height, penis size, hair – everything should be above average

average = inferior

What are your wrists size? I doubt you have a small frame.

I am attracted to only petite girls (< 5'2 ideal) with bones less than mine... If I'd have a child from them he will not reach 5'5 mark for sure.
