I can say duta has helped. I had continued slow af recession and abit frontal thinning and slow hair growth on top left and right Side but weirdly middle crown always stays the same thickness. Weird af.
You said you are a NW2.5 This guy is barely a NW2. Are you changing your level now?

It's all a matter of angle and lighting I guess. Take this photo for example. You would never say I'm balding.

Maintenance is my goal right now. I will be more than happy with that. Is there really evidence that it helped maintaining with people that were losing on just finasteride? Anagen should be legit, I think.
I don't trust anything from China at this point but give it a shot. You have nothing to lose but your money or your hair. It's worth the gamble. I would rather get a legit alternate product from someone who specializes in hair loss and is an MD and has a degree in pharmacology. And lives in the USA.

You and I have very similar hair. I got mine cut almost as short as yours and it almost looks the same.

I checked dozen of guys on reddit. Just type ru and shedding. On Google One guy shedded for 3 months straight and quit. Another shedded and got regrowth but his hairline worsened. Not every case is a success. Its Still a research chemical not studied enough and often its not pure enough. And can cause damage to folicles. Happened to me when I tried ru alone 6 Years ago and my friend said it killed his hairline so he had to get a transplant to fix it. I have read mostly negative experienced from ru than success tbh.

Everyone responds differently to different treatments too. For example, dutasteride gave me an insane scalp itch. For others it cures it. I'm sure the same thing can happen with topical antiandrogens where some people's genes respond well to it and others don't.

Some versions of topical minoxidil can give me scalp itch but that is about it.

Even If I still have a decent head of hair, Im definitely losing ground. I know I need to change something, but at that point it's really hard to decide. It looks like both Ru and dutasteride have a lot of horror stories.

That is because they are hormonal and people really vary in that regard. No excuse not to be using oral minoxidil.

I started shedding again at big amounts, .............I can't really estimate how fast I'm losing ground
Nobody will really be able to help you with this its something you need to be able determine yourself.

With me, I can tell the difference between when my hair is shedding and going to grow back, compared to when miniaturization has actually restarted and the shedding is a cause of being on a treatment that is not working.

Both scenario's would cause your hair to look worse.

Seeing as you say you have responded to finasteride before....I would hazard a guess that if you stick with your current finasteride regimen exactly for the next 12 months, at some point the shedding will stop and your hair will improve, in which case replacing finasteride or chopping and changing your treatments too much at this time could have a detrimental effect...

But its your call, as only you will know what is the right course of action to take.

Well, bad news for my hair. It's pretty grown now and I tried for first month to comb it without covering my temples. Results are shocking, my hairline has receded massively in just 3 months, when I shaved it. I understand that right now it's pretty close to game over, if I'm receding at that rate with finasteride, there are not a lot of options left. Anyway, I want to give a last fight before completely giving up to my genes.
I don't think I will use oral minoxidil, my face is already bloated. I'm thinking to add dutasteride once or twice a week and then if things continue to progress, I'm gonna add RU. What do you all think?
First photo late November, the other two from today.

Add RU first before trying dutasteride. You can also do topical finasteride to block more scalp DHT

That's a really tough decision. Ru seems to be better indeed, but it's more expensive and it looks like I have to go with it for life. So I'm not sure if I should pull the trigger yet.

RU addresses the issue from a different angle. Usually most people get very similar results from dutasteride as they do from finasteride because it’s not the difference in serum DHT that matters, it’s scalp DHT and they differ by only a few percent in that category. RU helps block the receptor.
