sorry to see your hairloss progressing. One positive though is that your hairline is still intact. I'd say maybe buzzing your hair to help disguise the thinning. If not, you'd probably be a great responder to a concealer like nanogen or toppik

Some of the previous posters mentioned your hairloss was almost female-patterned baldness. I've read up on this and a lot of the time it is due to low-iron count or anemia. Although rare in men, I think it is worth checking up on.

I found out I have a low iron count so hopefully modifying my diet will improve things. On that note though, I really do think your hair looks good. I know how awful it is to become used to your hair looking good when dry only to see it wet and become devastated. I think most of the guys here would be very happy to have hair in the state that yours is in.

Your hair isn't that bad still. I bet no one could tell you're balding when your hair is dry.

When it's dry you can tell my temples are sparser than the front of my hairline and I have that crown 'line' you have when you are thinning in a NW5 regimen and have combed your hair forward. I'll post pictures later today.

I suppose I should give a regimen update:
Been losing for 6 years (I'm 24 and it'll be six years this summer). My regimen as shown in my profile is:

5% store brand minoxidil 2-2.5ml (2x a day) since late december
Tricomin therapy spray (1x EOD) since late decmber
Prox-N (LEF Brand) (1x EOD) since late february
Dr. Proctor Nano Shampoo (4x a week) since early january
Nizoral 1% (3x a week) since mid to late march
S5 spironolactone since last wednesday,

Current status/observations: Not in good shape. While I remember the first time I used minoxidil I didn't get results I wanted till late November/early December (and I started in early June) but I feel six years of hair loss is catching up.

Hair is particularly thin and have been shedding more and it might because of S5, I hope.

Speaking of S5, did they change the formula? Because it does have a more noticeable smell than the last time I used it.

I think I have been applying tricomin to close to minoxidil these past weeks as I usually wait about 5 to 10 minutes and instead applying literally after tricomin. Which may explain minoxidil but also 6 years of hair loss.

Speaking of tricomin, I plan to change back to Folligen as I noticed when I used that, I felt I had better maintenance than with tricomin just making my scalp feel good.

I really wish I could use finasteride as every time I have used it for the first six to eight months, it stops my hair loss dead in it's tracks and then gives regrowth/thickening but then after six months if I just miss one dose, I mean one dose, I get a R.H. response. It just makes me wonder if my body just builds up because of that lack of 5AR to DHT.

I won't use RU because $500 is way too much for something that has given others a R.H. response too and when you factor in other supplies, it gets close to a grand.

Considering using the new Revivogen, always felt I might respond better to that, but I feel I should stick with S5 for now.

Plus for the same price, you can get prescription strength Proxiphen instead but that is $100 a month vs $100 every 3 months.

Was going to try Miconazole but it sounds like that fad fizzled out.

Otherwise just really trying to figure out what to do next. I know I will be bald but if I can keep delaying it, or just move from NW2.5 right now to an NW3 and possible V in the next two/three years instead of one (seriously feels like it) than all the better.

Obsidian, 1ml of Revivogen is enough to cover your thinning areas. So in your case and mine, you will get about 6 months of Revivogen for $100.

Obsidian to be honest with you bro I'm in the exact situation as you. Although you have better coverage then I do. I'm a diffuse thinner. My hairline is completely intact. I too am scared to get on Finasteride again (tried it once before).

I'm thinking if it gets much worse (I take a look in the mirror at my crown everyday) that I will jump on finasteride again. I think you should too.

Hey Obsidian, with your hair dry you can't tell you have a problem. My hair looks worse too when its wet. But when its dry, its looks normal. No matter what, you still have a great head shape to keep it short and you don't have a high forehead so you have everything in your favor. By the way you should edit your thread title and put your present age. Your hair still looks great at 24. I saw a 22 year old a few days ago and he was a NW6/7 and I have never seen anyone that young with that advanced balding in person. I felt so bad for him. Not only that but he does not stay in good shape either. You can still pull off a NW1 with your current hair style.

As others have pointed out, it doesn't look bad when it's dry and it seems you can still pull of a NW1. You are probably balding at or near to the normal pace of your body since you don't have any strong antiandrogens in your regimen, and it still doesn't seem too "aggressive". So you have that going for you.

Btw today I popped my first pill of dutasteride 0.5 mg. I'm in a panic by what I think is definite signs of thinning on the sides of my scalp and also plan to add RU once my financial situation allows it. I'll throw the kitchen sink at it and see what happens.

Maybe you could try eliminating the DHT with Saw Palmetto, or green tea? 3 or 4 cups of green tea a day will deffinatly lower the DHT in your blood, and it's better than nothing. I'd at least try that. Both are also dirt cheap.

When your hair is dry it looks fine. I'd just keep on doing whatever you are to try to maintain it. Maybe it won't thin any more and you'll keep it long enough to see some sort of new treatments emerge.

Your hair looks great! Got a question that maybe you or someone could answer. In your 2nd photo above, the area that is just above & surrounds the area where you see a bit of scalp (it's between your scalp part & where the white highlight shines) that patch of hair, is that healthy full hair in there or is that a thinning diffuse area? Reason I'm asking is that I am seeing that & a huge dark patch starting to form in there & it's definitely freaking me out. I have a huge wave in front of that so unsure this might be messing with things.

Again, your hair looks great & all the best!

I think the texture and the color of your hair play tricks with you. In my opinion and after seeing three years with stable situation it could be the way your hair has been since you were a child.

I'm honest, you never keep your hair without finasteride 1mg, Finasteride is essential. Or you use 1mg finasteride, or you'll be bald quickly, you have no option, At this rate in two years you will be a NW6. Make your choice...
