Oral Minoxidil Twice A Day Instead Of Once

After two years I don't even use it everyday and still is improving, sides were extra body hair, it's really annoying to have hair on the hands. Only use 1ml a day, the 2x times a day to me it seems like a ploy to make people use more so they buy more. Oral minoxidil seems like a bad idea.
Some people have zero tolerance for oral min while others can push it to 10-15 mg/day without issue. I seem to be somewhere in the middle. I agree that 1x a day probably gives most of the benefits. I assume you use liquid?

Would you not try 1.25mg per day?
I would but probably not without 1 mL of topical also. I think depending on 1.25mg alone would probably not give me enough. I believe there's a study where people absorb ~2.5 mg minoxidil with each 1 mL application.

Im thinking topical works better for me than oral now, too scared to stop oral though, it helped diffuse thinning on the top of my head but my crown was still in bad shape, needling on my crown with topical applied and im seeing a difference whereas before with just oral there was none. Don't know why, just some food for thought. Maybe the dose really is too low and i should stick to 20mg a day split in to morning and evening, i'd really like to get off topical. Ordered some spironolactone too, still not sure if i want to go down that route but it's an option i want to leave open.

Yes I use the regular liquid (good brand), targeting the areas topically directly versus orally (systemic) the results may differ from person to person, there's tons of bro science on youtube but if you want to experiment do it for 3 to 6 months unless you get sides then it's advisable to stop it right away.

Man I used topical 5% every day with finasteride for 2 years straight and never regrew sh*t. I stopped all of it about a year ago and definitely have lost more since stopping. I guess it was sort of maintaining. Now I’m on tugain 10% back on finasteride and just ordered some loniten. My blood pressure is already on the slightly high side so I’m not too worried, hoping it works. Also I’m a big weight lifter curious to know how it will interact with my preworkout and creatine.

I lift too and I haven’t seen much aside from the first week or two where I was a little light headed. Creatine has no impact on blood pressure and stimulants like a preworkout might slightly elevate it, you just want to be careful with dosage. At 5 mg it’s been growing back my hairline in combination with microneedling and dutasteride.

I was more so referring to creatine in the retaining water aspect. Good to hear about the regrowth, I also just ordered a dermapen. I’ve been using a roller but it’s only .30mm and probably not doing much

Did you have terrible shedding at first?

I stopped using the 5mg pills I got from Thailand - bought in a legit pharmacy - as I got too much of the face skin quality degradationt effect
Too bad becuase those are super cheap and of course very convenient
Back to using Rogaine foam

Yep. And it started growing back by week 4 or thereabout.
When I say terrible shedding. I’m talking like 100 plus hairs a day and all over the scalp. Was it like that? And is it looking like it’s coming back and what was the effect on the hairline

Wasn’t counting but definitely shed a lot.

Yes, I’m about 5 months in and I’ve had massive regrowth and hairline has been filling in where I had lost hair a long time ago. I’m 37 and my hair is better now than probably 10 years ago.

Is a diuretic required when taking oral? Or is it that most people probably need it?

Im not sure but with 5 mg is not needed. Just a good diet and salt intake control. With 10 mg or more probably yes.

That's cool. I might just give 5 mg daily a shot and see where it goes. I'm generally not prone to sides of anything really but we'll see if I get bloated etc.

I believe a lot of people have actually struggled with starting with 5mg; even though it’s touted as a rather small dosage on these forums.

Also would you say that it caused telogen effluvium
