I wonder what carvone do. Spearmint has much more than peppermint.
found a rat study. They fed it to them. The control group and the high dose group had some low incidents of follicle attrophy in 2 years. the low dose group had none. 15 rats though, so not significant IMO. The stuff is not bad though.
perillyl alcohol is a prescription drug now. I guess it works too good at fighting prostate cancer, so they won't let you buy it. Too bad we can't put it on our heads. I wonder what the content is in lavender and spearmint oil.
They get it from L. angustifolia, english lavender. So probably the highest concentration. I'd buy that.
I've been drinking 2-3 spearmint and peppermint teas a day for a while now. It's supposed to clean my system, etc. I'm not sure if it's the stress of work, but I don't feel very horny since I started drinking mint tea. I think I'm over-analysing it :dunno: .
I'll comment on my own post... It looks like I posted that comment almost 6 months ago (time flies)...
Last week I ran out of black tea and I started drinking the leftover mint tea that I had at home... That tea is unbelievable, after 4-5 days of 2-3 teas a day my libido is completely gone :sobbing:
Observing the same effects twice can't be a coincidence.
I don't think I'll be drinking mint tea again in the near future.
That's what most people use it for. Though this thread is some strong evidence of a placebo effect. If most people think it's growing more beard hair, yet eight years ago most people in this thread claim is slows beard growth down and thins out the hair... we have a contradiction. Both groups cannot be right.
I doubt the former group was correct - peppermint is not really known for it's anti-androgenic properties but for it's stimulating properties. I don't think I ever read an article re: peppermint being used as a hair growth inhibitor.
