Father has a good amount of hair considering his age and a solid NW1.5 hairline. His father was NW3 in his 40's and now NW6. With them it seems like like a late in life thing.
Mother's brother is fuggen highschool balding early graduation, now hes Norwood god just shave it. Her father had Norwood 2.5 up to the end.

I didn't vote because there was no option for balding.

My Dad is a nw3/4 in his late 50s.

yeah my father is NW2 with some mild crown diffusion also.
i got my hair from my mothers side - she has 3 brothers, all BALD.

it seems i got given the worst of the genes from my parents.
My mothers poor hair genes and my dads OCD/autism genes - why couldn't I have had my dads (normal) hair genes and my mothers (normal) mental genes ?
It's alright, I got cucked hard by the genetic lottery too. Literally the worst of my parents' genes and none of their best.

My dad is norwood 1.5 at age of 54, grandfather is nw7 at 83. Though he started to receed around 45.
My mother’s side, everyone has amazing hair. Thick enough to make you feel jealous.

I did have the “thick hair” thing, but now a f*****g diffuser. I’m currently at NW1.5/2.

I also suffer from alopecia areata.

Father was a strong NW2 until at least age 50, then NW2.5 until his late 50's. Now he's 65 and probably NW3-3.25. No diffuse thinning. His father (my paternal grandfather) followed that same pattern and is still a NW3.5 at age 95. My maternal grandfather was a THICK NW1 until he died at age 88 (disgustingly good hair). My maternal grandmother, however, had many of the same hair characteristics I have (texture, the way it's patterned - e.g., we have waves in the same areas etc.), and she had mild diffusion in her 70's and 80's, including diffusion right in the center front of the hairline, which is one of the things that I have. Her brothers (my great-uncles) were also bald/balding while younger, so it seems I got her family's hair genes somehow since my loss and diffusion started at age 16. My father and paternal grandfather, however, had ZERO hair loss until at least age 40.

Yes, although not seen him since I was 5, but it's personal reasons.

Mum also has some extensive thinning, could be from stress.
She's in her late 60's though.

My dad balded hard starting in his teens. He was nw6 by 30.

When I got to 25 before i noticed the start of some loss I was blown away and felt lucky it took that long since I assumed I'd be as aggressively fucked as him.

My mom's side has full nw2 heads up to the 60s. Her dad was maybe nw3 when he died in his 80s. Probably those genetics helped slow my situation.
if your dad started balding in high school thats actually really good that he got to 30 before being bald. what norwood was he at 20? 25?

I don't know the exact chronology. But he often tells me when I talk about my hair about how he was in high school and mountains of his hair just started falling out all over his pillows every day. And how he was balding all through university. By 30s, he had us and all the pics we're in he just has very sparse coverage on top left.

Either way it's what I always thought would happen to me and I've been very glad it didn't go that way in my case. I've had more time to prepare since I started later and went slower and more technology to assist me in finding solutions.

My father is a nw3 at 50, has always been. His brother is a nw3 v at 55, their father was a nw3 v until the end.

My mothers father has some diffuse thinning at 80. His brothers are all diffuse thinners at 30-50.

I'm an nw2-3 at 19. Hoping to stop here just like my father.

What norwood and age are you now? And does your pattern resemble your fathers?

my dad: 60 at NW2-3 (very thick hair), severe stress, very good conditions with a healthy lifestyle no smoking or drinking
his dad: NW5-6 at 66 when died (malnourished smoking drinking etc) - severe stress
My moms dad: nw6 at 48 when died (malnurished smoking and heavily drinking - severe stress
my: brother 34 - nw1-2 perfect living conditions, not very active. some stress.
me: 32, started losing my temples at 18, nw4 right now at age 32. Perfect living conditions, very active / healthy lifestyle. a lot of stress until age 31.

My baldness is from my mothers' side (unicorn pattern), but my hair texture is the same as my grandfather and I look almost identical to my grandfather. On the upside I dodged a bunch of other bad genes and baldness is my only one which I will fix this year.
