Proxiphen regimen

I've been on finasteride for about 5 months now and minoxidil on 2. Had great results and things keep on getting better. But I'm pretty sure I'm experiencing a low libido and some testicle pain starting about two weeks ago. At 19 years old I really can't deal with these sides, it just doesn't seem natural.

So my plan is start on Dr.proctor's Proxiphen. Now I live about 30 min south of Houston where Dr.Proctor's office is and have scheduled an appointment to meet with him in person. I'm gonna go ahead and order my first months supply though because the earliest they could get me in to see him was a month from now.

My question to Bryan and others that have experience with Proxiphen is do you think I will maintain my gains that Ive received from finasteride/minoxidil?

My regimen will include:

Proxiphen x1 or x2 a day, not sure yet
minoxidil depending if I go once a day with Proxiphen
Dr.Lee's regrowth shampoo 2%keto/3% salicylic acid
PTO shampoo
Tee tree/lavender shampoo/conditioner
Multi vitamin/fish oil
1-2 protein shakes everyday for muscle building.

Anyone have suggestions on what else I could add? I was thinking maybe fluridil but its pretty expensive. I really don't think I could deal with flutamide as im getting sides from 0.25mg finasteride.

Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated :)

Oh and I'm also gonna try and get some before Proxiphen photos to follow my progress. I will post these here when I get them.

You could start working out, try Zinc, this could fix the problem. Remember that some of these problems could be in your mind. finasteride can give you a side effect, but your mind can blow it up 10 times.

About what you can keep from your finasteride/minoxidil use, no one real knows. But Proxiphen is a nice combo of drugs, so its probably your best bet. Fluridil could work, but again, its more a maintenance drug and I don't really know if it will out gain the effect of spironolactone in proxipen. Remember that you want a easy regime that you could use for years, and proxiphen is probably the easiest of them all. I use about 2 minutes a day to apply it, it's so easy and spreads real well.

About minoxidil, proctor says 1x proxiphen a day for a reason and he like many other docs don't have much faith in minoxidil(especially in the long run). To summarize what I have read, If you have used a lot of minoxidil you probably need to still use minoxidil together with Proxiphen, if you have only used the recommended dosage you could only use Proxiphen. But again, no one really knows, you could be a minoxidil superresponder. But it's important to follow what he says about quiting minoxidil. Dr. P would probably tell you more because he have a lot more experience than most of the people on this site.

Why not just use nizoral EOD or 2 times a week, SA is something that Dr. Lee has hyped for his Xandrox without much proof. Dr. P could probably tell you more about that.

You could use Nano conditioner and put Lavender in it, this is what I do. I'm a little curious why he put rosemary in it and not lavender. Could be because of lavenders supposedly side effect, it would be real cool if you asked him what he says about that.

About the fish oil, it could be good for the scalp and skin, and help your hair a tiny bit, but the huge gains are probably in the meds. Protein is probably the same, the add ons in protein shakes like argine and other stuff could probably help to.

Proxiphen is expensive, but after 8 months its 50 bucks a month. It's like one night out on town.

Good luck.

There's really nothing I need to add to what SoThatsLife said. He explained it very well, and I agree with everything he said! :)

SoThatsLife, thanks for the response. About finasteride I think you are right about a lot of it being it my head and I'm just scared of not being able to get it up when needed :innocent:. I guess I want the best of both worlds, maintain my hair without worrying of sides. I think I will stay on finasteride atleast another month after starting proxn.

I wish there was a way to know for sure that I'm getting side effects, I hate this psychological sh*t lol.

Also since I've started minoxidil I've kinda overloaded it hoping to get better results. I go through a months supply in two weeks at about 6 ml a day.
