can anyone confirm the effectiveness of the dermaroller? Is it a reliable tool?

YesDo you apply minoxidil all over your scalp (the areas that were bald)?
Yes leaves are most effective.Nice.. inflammation must have a lot to do with it. Anything else other than the leaves?
Some use tumeric. But in my case it didn't do muchSo if I can't find perilla, or borage and I'm on fish oil what else can I do about inflammation?
I was no responder to minoxidil before dermaroller. But I responded very well to finasterideIs it possible that Somebody is just a fantastic responder to finasteride and minoxidil? Was the dermaroller really his magic bullet?
I'm back from my backpacking trip.Yes right, there is some painI know you've taken a break from the forum for a while. I'm following your technique since the summer. However, I got a cheap derma-roller and it was one of those that had the wheel but the pins didn't go to the centre if you know what I mean. The result was that it wasn't very painful to use at 1.5mm.
As long as you are seeing new hair it's a good sign. But they should turn dark, are you taking supplements like biotin?I recently bought both a 1.5mm and a 2.0mm which are better quality with the deeper pins. The difference is huge in terms of pain. I can barely do the rolling now and it's very easy to break the skin. I have to go very lightly. I'm hoping I will see more results now with this better derma-roller. Even just using the old one and minoxidil I have seen a lot of new hairs at the hairline but also it's got very thin. My hair looks okayish some days but under strong lighting it's very thin and if I brush it the wrong way it's very thin in places. Did you have this kind of experience? I presume this is as the new hairs push out the old and is the dreaded shed?
If used corectly it can make wonderscan anyone confirm the effectiveness of the dermaroller? Is it a reliable tool?
I plan to remake few things, things have changed since 2013. But essential compontents are still same dermaroller, minoxidil and finasteride.Alex seems to have removed the details of his regimen. He is legit though. You can see photos of him before treatment and his videos on youtube. He posted a lot on this forum and answered a lot of questions.
I don't use biotin. Maybe that would make the difference. The signs are good. I'm cautiously optimistic. As long as you are seeing new hair it's a good sign. But they should turn dark, are you taking supplements like biotin?
Yes, you should add it!I don't use biotin. Maybe that would make the difference. The signs are good. I'm cautiously optimistic.
I started with Biotin 2 weeks ago, read that it takes 2 months to start see results. Will let you know if it had any impact for me after the 8 weeks pasted.I don't use biotin. Maybe that would make the difference. The signs are good. I'm cautiously optimistic.
Thanks. I read it will cause hair to grow more quickly so that could help to thicken and also to see the results of what's going on below the surface.I started with Biotin 2 weeks ago, read that it takes 2 months to start see results. I’ve been on biotin since I started finasteride 6 months ago. I’m still continuing to thin.Thanks. I read it will cause hair to grow more quickly so that could help to thicken and also to see the results of what's going on below the surface.
It seems like you are a little unlucky with your medications , i really hope that your Finasteride will start to make its miracles on you soon!I’ve been on biotin since I started finasteride 6 months ago. I’m still continuing to thin.
I hope so too. I might switch to dutasteride. I think my hairs stayed the same the last two months though so maybe it’s slowing downIt seems like you are a little unlucky with your medications , i really hope that your Finasteride will start to make its miracles on you soon!
Be careful with msm. I was on it for more than one year back in 2012 got nasty sides. If you plan to take it you should cycle it, not like I did by taking daily. And yes it did imrpove my hair qulity.MSM is also a good supplement to take along with your biotin.
Are you sure you have a dht problem? 6 months without results is to long. Here is my 4 month results with propecia 0.5 mgI’ve been on biotin since I started finasteride 6 months ago. I’m still continuing to thin.
What else could it be? First pic is baseline 6 months ago. Next two are now. You can see I’ve lost a lot of density everywhere.Be careful with msm. Sore scalp is huge red flag! Here are my pictures. Great regrow from propecia until end of 2010 and because of inflammation I lost a lot of my gains in 2011. Somehow gained ground again in late 2012 but regrow was never the same as in 2010.What else could it be? First pic is baseline 6 months ago. Next two are now. I do get major inflamation too. Sometimes my scalp gets very sore. I’m thinking about trying perilla leaves
So what kind of things can I do to cure the sore scalp other than perilla leaves?Sore scalp is huge red flag! Here are my pictures. If you do have a inflammation, don't use dermaroller it will only make it worse.
Perillia won't help in your case. Look into topicalsSo what kind of things can I do to cure the sore scalp other than perilla leaves?
I guess I didn't have hair loss at all.... It was all about lightingAre you sure you lost density? That first photo is under darker lighting conditions, whereas the now photos are under brighter lights; usually hair looks worse in brighter lighting so it’s hard to make a direct comparison between those two sets of photos
